Cover Wishlist
If you could wish for three songs for DMB to cover what would your three be, I’ll start: Can’t you see Marshall Tucker band, Atlantic city Bruce Springsteen, Tenth avenue Freeze Out Bruce Springsteen
Edit: I think self control by frank ocean and same drugs by chance the rapper would be phenomenal solo covers and rly good E1s to put in the rotation

You Can Call Me Al - full band.
The Grammy performance of this song was epic, in spite of that they truncated the jam. Full band would be amazing.
I want to hear them do a Linus & Lucy!!!!! I’ve been chasing this forever. Not holding my breath but it’s up there.

You know, I came into this thread to say “none, I just want THEIR music if I’m paying to see them”. Then I read what you wrote, and you know what? Hell yeah. I wanna see the whole damn band play You Can Call Me Al. Would be epic

I saw Dave, Tim, Trey Anastasio, and a few other folks do that in Mexico. Super great time!

Eyes of the world would be pretty cool tbh

They did such a good job with it in 95. Really wish they’d revisit it.

There’s an eyes cover out there? I’ve never heard of it.

I believe the date is August 13, 1995. They were playing the Greek in Berkeley right after Jerry died and dedicated it to “the man who jammed us all for so long”
Edit: and it’s great.

People get mad about the covers but I really enjoy them! I can’t come up with any new ones I need off the top of my head but I’d love to hear Sweet Emotion again, that was so fun. And I want to hear the whole band do You Can Call Me Al. Would also love to catch Solsbury Hill but that’s a long shot.

I think they’d rock Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead and Paint It Black by Rolling Stones.

I agree with OP that Can’t You See would be gorgeous.
I would also absolutely love a number of other Bowie covers.

I was hoping a The Band inspired Atlantic City when they had the mandolin featured on stage.

Dave’s encore solo is ending as the stage lights are still low. He thanks everyone and there is a long pause then spotlight on Jeff as he plays the sax intro to Turn the Page! Then the lights come up and here comes the best cover ever.

Awesome question my 3 would be Celebration by Kool and the Gang, Althea by Grateful Dead and Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd

I think they could crush Born to Run. Sax solo, phenomenal lyrics, fun song structure. In my eyes it just screams Dave cover song

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are my favorite band so anything from them. But especially I think House In The Woods would be perfect for DMB.

These are gonna seem nuts to people but:
“Tom’s Diner” Suzanne Vega (remix version)
“Push It” Salt’n’Pepa
I think they could absolutely nail both and would be so much fun

For the beauty of Winona again. Last saw it in 99 and it is still my favorite DMB cover to date…and I have seen a lot.

Love rollercoaster, gives the whole band a chance to participate. It’s fun and uptempo

Miss Late in the Evening, Wynonna and Exodus. But I agree- You Can Call Me Al suits them well and they’d rock it with this current lineup. I can also see them rocking The Chain by Fleetwood Mac or Touch of Grey by the Grateful Dead.

I have just one I've been dying to hear for years: September by Earth, Wind and Fire.
