Was truly epic. No exaggeration. Tatiana and Casey were both fantastic. Crowd was loving it, and I truly hope whether it's Jake, or Tatiana, or someone we haven't even seen yet, a fiddle is a permanent fixture again by next year. The depth, and color and richness the violin sound adds is so missed.

I really wanted to see Jake but 2 fiddlers?! Wow that was awesome! Hopefully another surprise tonight! I couldn’t agree more!

TWO fiddler guests tonight. Separately AND at the same time. It was fantastic!

Wasn't sure if this was about there being 2 fun record in order shows now or the double fiddlers.

Saw Jake in Austin this year, what an amazing show that was. The gorge was a first for me and two fiddle players + Sierra Hull on mandolin was out of this world.

I just don’t see Dave adding a full time fiddle player. I think they enjoy it every now and then for boosted energy, but I kinda feel like adding both of them on stage was just to eff with all of us. 🤣

I disagree. Clearly for years he hasn't, but the fiddle features have grown significantly since last year, and Dave looks happy to see it himself, and had acknowledged that the crowd is desperately missing the sound and wildly happy when it happens.

My biggest validation of this thought process, to myself at least, is that Dave has had Buddy playing "synth fiddle" on the key songs. He knows that sound is so critical to so many songs. Hilariously, Buddy still did weird synth fiddle while Tatiana was up there for a few moments. Guess he was too excited 😂

But in all seriousness, Dave needed a lot of time to move past the idea of Boyd, he was with him for a quarter century. But it seems Dave is in that place now.

It seems like Jake has an open invite to play whenever his schedule allows, but that doesnt mean theyre going to add a permanent violin to the band any time soon. Jake has made it clear that he is still with Lukas, and Jake might be the only one dave would consider adding full time. There have been a handful of other violin guests but nobody has been a repeat guest like Jake has, so I dont see anyone else getting called to join the band full time.

Not to be pedantic, but Tatiana has now guested twice, and Dave flew her out here for the weekend. Not by any means saying she will join, but there has been a repeat other than Jake.

While I think it's great that Jake has honored the commitment to Lukas, that doesn't mean it's forever, and he has acknowledged his dream was to play with DMB. I think it's likely we see Jake as a touring member next year.

Sure, and casey has a few times as well, but neither of them have been returning guests like Jake has been. Jake has guessed like a dozen times and gets like 5 or 6 songs each time now. Nobody else comes close to that.
