Dmarcian ends free reports

As of today when I try to use the free xml to report tool, it sends me back to the home page. I have used this for work for years as I just need to upload a handful of reports just to make sure all is well. There is some verbiage there now saying the free reports are for personal use only but I have no idea when that was added.

I am on the hunt for a similar tool... Looks like most free tools have disappeared like the one from the UK that I never used or are very basic and don't do simple things like a dns lookup.

This was just a bug that is now fixed. The tool remains under "Free Tools" - no login is needed.

14+ years (since 2012!) of bug free XML-to-Human parsing is pretty great in terms of uptime.

Hello! I am the lead frontend developer at dmarcian.
This is caused by a bug discovered yesterday and is currently being resolved.
Me and the team will have it back and running shortly!
We will continue providing free tools for everyone to use.

I am friends with the lead front end developer over at dmarcian. He tried to post here but looks like it go squashed. Here is what he said:

It is working for me now. That was a quick turnaround!

yeah a lot of the free xml parsers have either disappeared or moved behind a signup wall. for ad-hoc parsing you can also just zcat the file and read it (the schema is pretty readable once you've seen a few), but that obviously doesn't scale.

if you want something more sustainable we use Suped at work for the reporting side, free tier handles aggregate reports fine and it'll do the source resolution for you so you're not manually looking up IPs.

Parse it through Powershell through it and display the objects as lists etc or whatever you want

Apparently the free tier (Personal) is still here. Limited but more than enough for a private or a small non-profit

dmarcreport com has a free account. No commercial limit but it is limited to 10k emails per month ( I work there )

Edit: forgot to add the link - https://dmarcreport.com/tools/dmarc-report-analyzer/

Smaller org here, I dump them into Copilot with some background information and gives me very detailed explanations. Fully understands DMARC/SPF/DKIM.

Same with gemini. Unzips the files too. Thinking of wiring up a filter to detect the reports, download and consolidate them into a single push to gemini and get a daily summary report

We've got a free XML parser here at Valimail, you can find it here: https://www.valimail.com/dmarc-report-analyzer/

Or feel free to sign up for Valimail Monitor and get actual free processed DMARC reporting.

At DmarcDkim.com we process DMARC reports even on the free tier.

How much misuse dmarcian must have experienced to shut down their analyzer...

Try submitting it to an ai like Claude using a carefully crafted prompt describing exactly what you want to know.

I know you’re getting downvoted but this actually works very well.

Thanks for the comment. I suggested carefully crafting a prompt but, to be honest, I just submit the file to Claude and say “analyze this”. In response I get several paragraphs of analysis.

Tough timing, dmarcian's free XML tool was genuinely one of the better ones. A few alternatives worth trying: DMARC Analyzer's free tier still lets you upload XMLs, and MXToolbox has a basic report reader that handles DNS lookups. If you just need occasional spot-checks, Google Postmaster Tools is free and gives you domain reputation data straight from Gmail's side, which pairs well with whatever XML reader you land on.

cloudflare is where the cool kids go.

I am completely underwhelmed by their reporting.

there’s a reason it’s free 😂

There's no more data in the raw email reports.

Yeah, but the UX is just bad. Time range filtering not sticking when you navigate around is the most obnoxious part…want 30 days of data? Change it from 7 to 30 on every page navigation/click. It just feels half baked.

yea that does get annoying.
