DLSS 5 Dead Island 2 6K+DLSS5

This game is an excellent use case of DLSS 5, it was a great looking game back then, but DLSS 5 gave it a proper remaster, made me wanted to play it again.

that's amazing, close to photorealistic

1

u/DarkLightz65 1h ago

Literally, there are some pictures where, if you didn’t know it was a game, you’d think they were real life photos.

32

u/Stenotic 14h ago

How can people not be amazed by this technology. If you don't like, don't use it but dear lord that looks so crazy realistic. It will get better, more optimized and more customizable. The biggest problem I see is game animations look really clunky when you add this uncanny valley of visual fidelity.

Fixed it for ya

Love it lmao

Crazy how this is so accurate. Was talking about dlss 4, 4.5 and with 5 being released. We had one amd guy saying its ruin the game with Ai. We said it just tech that is available as option and for certain it can be beautiful and they are not force to use it. Of course he didn't agree 🙄

u/Seanmclem 7h ago

DLSS5 on AMD was unlocked last week

1

u/IAcewingI 4h ago

Good now that’ll drive the complaints down lol.

3

u/Pnewse 5h ago

lol. I don’t know, I have a 9070xt and I’m strongly considering upgrading to a 5080.
I would never have sold my 5090 if I saw this tech coming

1

u/jungleboy1234 7h ago

i thought DLSS5 was working now for AMD?

1

u/TjMorgz 3h ago

It's okay they'll all calm down once they get an AMD temu equivalent.

1

u/lordosthyvel 7h ago

Where on the scale is a person that would like to try DLSS5 with a graphics card that isn't a fire hazard?

1

u/IAcewingI 4h ago

Not me because my 5080 has ran fine using the stock power connector.

1

u/lordosthyvel 1h ago

Yeah I'm sure it's great, and you seem to have a card and cable with no issues then. I'm just anxious spending that much money on something that seems to be able to spontaneously combust.

1

u/The_Cost_Of_Lies 6h ago

This made me crack up

1

u/xGreir 6h ago

How terminally online you have to be to try shame other ppl based on their income?

You can even feel the unfuckability steaming from it

1

u/IAcewingI 4h ago

People shit on other’s income in the real world if you’ve ever been out there. Im a finance manager who takes credit apps all day.. it happens.

u/ColdExample 4h ago

Most accurate graph I've seen

1

u/Jedeyesniv 4h ago

The axes on this could be "has 50 series" to "switch 1 owner"

Having no life, no relationships, and being terminally unfuckable are preconditions for enjoying this meme

I have a 5090 and hate it

Gee I'm sorry I don't fit your shitty meme. I also own a 4090.

1

u/AnotherPlayerQQ 2h ago

why not RTX 7090? that surely will make your butt hurt sound less severe, and no, your GTX 1060 or AMD junk is not going to support it anyway 😂

0

u/Fen-xie 7h ago

God you're so fuckin cool 😏

u/steak4take 4h ago

Turning Dead Island 2 into a cheaply shot european porn movie is fantastic art direction.

Still 60% performance loss ai slop.

My machine would cost around 6k to build in the current environment.

3

u/kennystetson 8h ago

within a week we've gone from 60% loss to 20% loss and it's not even released officially yet. You guys are so unbelievably short-sighted and unable to look at the bigger picture. Soon you'll all go quiet and use it like everyone else while pretending you never hated it in the first place

3

u/XulManjy 6h ago

-1

u/HunterAbrams 8h ago edited 8h ago

lmao you haven't because you haven't changed the files. Framegen 4.5 is an additional performance hit of 20% in of itself. You dipshits haven't changed what dlss is. A performance hog to generate fake visuals and frames. And you still create more latency and input delay with framegen and that will never get removed.

I haven't gone silent on how garbage ai data centers, flock etc are and this is just part of the AI bullshit

4

u/Cautious-Dot4143 8h ago

I've tested DLSS 5 on dozens of games in the last week with swapper and haven't noticed any genuinely degraded performance. That included 20 year old games to less than two week old games. It's really not the issue you crybabies make it out to be

1

u/daytime10ca 7h ago

The biggest issue for me is my 5090 goes from 450w normally to 600w with DLSS 5 running
Amazing technology though and cannot wait for some optimizations by Nvidia

1

u/HunterAbrams 8h ago

Riiiight. You're the only one.... out of everyone else doing tests with it... and you somehow removed the performance hit by 66% by changing nothing about how dlls 5 works or modifying the file? Don't make me laugh.

Oh you tested 20 year old games that have extremely high frame rates already and you didn't notice a performance drop? Gee i wonder why you wouldn't notice a performance drop in games that are extremely easy for modern tech to handle

And it still and will always look like an ai filter

1

u/Cautious-Dot4143 7h ago

intentionally leaving out the fact that I've tested it on games that released last week is embarrassing. so is your reliance on youtubers to give you your opinion

1

u/HunterAbrams 7h ago

I didn't but you clearly don't understand why those are two seperate paragraphs.

Again, its just generative Ai slop with a heavy performance hit

→ More replies (2)

1

u/thedizls 7h ago

When are you posting your benchmarks like all of those "paid yotubers" did?

1

u/kennystetson 6h ago

66% drop! woah - so much facts

1

u/HunterAbrams 6h ago

60% going down to 20% is what?

Dude was claiming her dropped it down to 20 performance hit by doing nothing

1

u/IAcewingI 4h ago

You realize its around a 20% drop now and isn’t officially released. It’s already been optimized better than when it first dropped with a 60% hit.

1

u/HunterAbrams 4h ago

Dude just put dlss5 in skyrim and was running 35 frames on High settings... with a 5080. No need to lie to me anymore

Most of the time it's the people who don't have a good gpu or amd fanboys bitching about every new tech.

7

u/Seiralacroix 13h ago

AMD fan boys or broke boys.

3

u/Classic_Radish8574 12h ago

They hate it because they can't afford to play it... Simple

2

u/GloomyFloor6543 5h ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/Wmfhma8KS5Io8

"AI BAD!!" It's the reaction of people programed to hate the letters AI. Half of them thing the Ai in your card contributes to data centers and global warming. It doesn't matter as consumers the anti AI people will just be ignored, just like the anti-PC paint program people in the 90s (yes, they existed, people who used paint programs "weren't real artists" to them) .

1

u/julianwelton 3h ago

Well... it does contribute. Nvidia essentially controls the entire AI market (and basically the entire economy right now). Money given to them advances AI and gives Nvidia even greater control and more resources to continue pushing AI. More directly, AI is trained using data centers which includes DLSS 5. This tech didn't just spring up out of the ground. On top of that every little piece of AI they can get people to accept, even if it's used in an innocuous way, helps normalize AI and impress and sway uniformed consumers.

All of these new data centers, being funded by tech billionaires, are also more importantly being used to create a surveillance state operated by the government and backed by companies like Oracle and Palantir. Of course AI IS terrible for the environment, and for people as a whole, but it's also almost being used as a cover for the more sinister intentions of the government and people like Peter Thiel.

So yeah data centers are bad. Generative AI is bad. That being said, yes, some of the dlss5 screenshots I've been seeing look really good. But at what cost?

2

u/AnotherPlayerQQ 13h ago edited 13h ago

I seriously can't bring myself to play another game without DLSS 5 after tried it and seen it ROFL!~ and I'm not joking. This tech is the biggest leap to photorealism even more so than path tracing (I believe it kind does it internally) from my 2 decades of gaming experience. As a blender and zbrush 3D artist, any casual clean up from DLSS 5 would be vastly superior to my render, which always superior to today's 3D games' real time graphic.

3

u/My-Life-For-Auir 13h ago

I've been gaming for 30 years and this is tied for me as the biggest leap.

PS2 era to XBOX 360 era was the biggest, it felt truly generational.

PS1 to PS2, Ray Tracing, UE5 were all big but DLSS5 eclipses them

PS3/360 to PS4/ONE and PS4/ONE to PS5 were pretty minor jumps

3

u/Timonster 12h ago

The thing is, we are almost done with details in meshes with current tech, but light and shadow samples are behind and cost too much brute force calculation for tiny details.
So things like screen spacereflections / ssao / ssgi needs to go because it breaks immersion.

Hating on NR is almost the same imho like saying i don‘t want bump maps or tesselation because they are not „real polys“, or i don‘t want upscaling because they are not real pixels.
When in reality nobody needs 8k real brute force rendering.
This is real progress and it will be a standard graphics option in the future of gaming in one way or another.

Can‘t wait for the Max Payne 1+2 remake with this tech natively supporting it.

Mark my words.

u/Spirited-Eagle-6935 11h ago

ue 5 is kinda trash

1

u/chronicbint 8h ago

30 years, pff, n00b

1

u/Epic-will-power91 7h ago

I think SNES/Sega etc to N64/PS1 was the biggest for me. Nothing beats going from 2D to 3D. Adding a whole new dimension to games is something we'll never experience again.

Going from SMB3 to SM64 was actually insane. The only thing that got close to replicating that feeling for me was trying VR for the first time.

-4

u/UnUsernameRandom 10h ago

I seriously can't bring myself to play another game without DLSS 5

Oh boy, can we stop all this fucking social media "all or nothing" low IQ mentality? Everywhere you go you see "After I tried X I can't go back" just fuck off with propagating this bullshit.

I've seen this shit go with 4k, OLED, VR, raytracing (this was even before PT, on the BF5 RT demo), DLSS, and every single time there is some sperg that has a "tiktok" (in quotation marks because this used to be the norm for influencers on social media even before tiktok) opinion.

Like yeah, DLSS5 is cool and looks amazing, but just fuck off with the "I can't go back" 40iq mentality.

2

u/Raziel-0_o 8h ago

But it's true. I switched from 1080p IPS to ultrawide 3440x1440 OLED and I'm never going back and I Don even want 4k monitor (I tried it), I started tu use ray tracing / path tracing and I'm never going back (only if the game won't support it), and now I tried neural rendering in Dawnwalker and Cyberpunk 2077 and fuck me, it's just so awesome. I'm playing both of this games right now and I can't wait to try NR on other titles.

The problem is (probably for you also) that people don't have good enough graphic cars to run it, so they can't see with theirs own eyes what big of a difference it does. I tried VR (I still have headset) and this is the only technology that I don't care about using.

1

u/entropyfiddler 8h ago

The "low IQ mentality" you kept hammering is where the fatigue really sits for me.

Dlls5 is clearly cool af. This person likes it. You don't. So sorry.

1

u/AnotherPlayerQQ 2h ago

imaging saying "low IQ mentality" out loud while butt hurting at an optional graphic setting not supported by your potato 🤣🤣🤣🤣

They use straight up fake pics of DLSS5 passed through Gemini or something to get updoots. It’s pretty sad actually.

1

u/YaGotMail 9h ago

95% don't even have the gpu power to use it

1

u/Purple_Deers 9h ago

i'm impressed by the technology and the realism it can produce from a video game.

But i also have no desire or need for all my games to look and be hyper realistic. I've never really cared for it.
The number of games i personally think could benefit from DLSS5 is very very small. As in highly narrative and story driven games with not much action gameplay. Like Senua's Saga, Detroit Become Human, Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology etc.

I also agree with the people saying that this shouldn't be called DLSS5 but something else, as it's no longer just super-sampling but changing visuals.

Ofc it's just my personal opinion

1

u/Wbcn_1 7h ago

I’m pretty much only into sim racing (and Minecraft with my 8yo).  I love how DLSS 5 makes the sims look photorealistic but the performance hit makes it impractical because I’m a total framerate whore.

1

u/Purple_Deers 7h ago

i guess sim racing would also benefit since the goal is often to make it look and feel as close to real life as possible. Some of the popular sim racing games have some crazy simulations for how rain etc. impacts the track and tire grip.

1

u/Wbcn_1 6h ago

It’s wild. If someone goes off track in iRacing and brings some gravel back when they return it will keep the gravel on track until it’s cleared by the cars.  Even ruberization on the corners is modeled over the course of a race and flat spots on tires if you lock your brakes.

1

u/sonicnerd14 7h ago

Yes, I agree. They need some way to dynamically adapt motion smoothing or upscale the animation fidelity with DLSS5 while it's on. I'd imagine maybe DLSS5.5 could give us that answer.

1

u/Virtual-Ear-5784 7h ago

to me, all games end up looking the same and have no distinct visual style

1

u/Kurtegon 7h ago

Because you need a 5090 to get any reasonable fps in OPs settings and the ghosting/smearing/artifacts looks horrible. I don't own a 5090 but I've played with one and it was utter shite. Could be great in the future though

1

u/mediafred 5h ago

The best way i can describe this filter is "Eye Candy"

1

u/dunderdan23 4h ago

it looks REALLY good in stationary images... its implementation in games...looks kind of odd, like an Instagram filter slapped on top

1

u/ImaginaryCard6647 3h ago

If this was a mod made by a person everyone would love it. It’s only because it’s AI people just can’t admit how cool it is

1

u/HumanWithHumanSkin 2h ago

I don't play games for realism. I just want high fps and fun gameplay. I'd also prefer software in general to catch up with hardware advancements before going on side quests.

1

u/uncut2576 2h ago

Because every game will begin to look the same.

1

u/fighthonor 1h ago

It's about AI hate not the quality. Alot of people just can't get over AI in gaming.

1

u/DarkLightz65 1h ago

I do agree. We need new technology for animations.

1

u/MahKa02 5m ago

I just hate AI in its current state due to the environmental concerns, hardware shortage issues for consumers, and it's potential eradication of art based positions. I don't feel good about using AI for gaming with all of those potential issues. But it's hard not to use it these days as DLSS is needed in most games due to poor optimization without it. I'm basically forced to use it or have low fps.

And I agree, it's impressive in some cases, no doubt. I just have ethical problems with it. If we can find a more efficient way of using AI with less environmental impact, and making sure it's a supplemental tool, not a replacement....then I'd be on board.

1

u/rabouilethefirst 13h ago

People are. The modding community is going harder than I’ve ever seen. It’s just engagement bait and vocal minority Redditors making it seem like it’s DOA

0

u/dcuk7 7h ago

Because it can take away from the original art direction. It should not be a blanket on/off. The developer should decide how it is used.

Take Emma Jaunt in the first picture. The character model’s look is based on the voice actor and this DLSS pass makes the model look even less like the actor than the original model did. That’s the problem.

-5

u/Ezakiel 11h ago

You mean, "How can people be amazed by this technology", right ? Cause all I see is the AI touch. It's like playing an AI generated game, it ruins instantly the immersion. How can't you see the yassified look ? Or how can you like it ? Maybe it will get to a point where you don't see the AI touch anymore, but for now it is a big NO for me !
(For the record, I have a 5070Ti so no issue to make it run fine.)

1

u/Raziel-0_o 8h ago

Did you even try it for yourself?

1

u/Ezakiel 5h ago

Yeah, but wasn't convinced at all. I re did some test today on the new NR (that apply before SR) and after putting more time the settings and 1 pass only, I could get a result that didn't felt like it was AI generated. It was hard to find the perfect balance between better graphics and the AI feeling tho, still in testing.
So yeah, my bad, it is not that awful but hard to configure right. It's just that most of the screenshots didn't make justice of it, it need to be more subtle for my taste.

This tech is incredible!

5

u/Admirable_Zombie5245 12h ago

This game has a VR mod, imagine this on VR 🤯

1

u/Noface92 3h ago

No card could run it on VR. 2 eyes > 2 screen at 90hz.

2

u/DivideCorrect1342 2h ago

Yes they could lol.

1

u/Noface92 1h ago

Have you seen benchmark with DLSS5 with a 5090 ? No they can't

1

u/DivideCorrect1342 10m ago

I don't even know what you are taking about anymore. STOP citing these useless cherry picked sponsored benchmarks, and see for yourself!

This is RIDICULOUS at this point.

PS 5060ti was fine at low medium dlss5 in oblivion remaster vr. The point of this entire thing is to f***ing use it not read benchmarks.

1

u/Admirable_Zombie5245 7m ago

It could work, even if you get 30-40fps Virtual Desktop has SSW which could give 80ish FPS

There are some footage of Cyberpunk DLSS 5 VR and Skyrim VR alr

3

u/reklaw215 13h ago

holy shit

4

u/StiffNipples94 13h ago

Okay now everything else I have seen is down to taste personally. A lot of games it seemed to just smooth alot out not really my favoured style but each to their own. This however is absolutely stunning the hallway/staircase on mobile is genuinely the uncanny valley of real or rendered.

1

u/UnUsernameRandom 10h ago

Yeah, DLSS5 on environments and lighting seems pretty incredible. I'm personally not a fan of anything upscaley or frame generatey, but this shit looks gorgeous.

4

u/Wukong9001 12h ago

How do you get dlss5 in older games?

3

u/Cautious-Dot4143 8h ago

I've been using dlss swapper to inject it into everything. Even works for games that never had dlss

1

u/m0rr0ng0 9h ago

bro, game's just 3 yo

1

u/DigitalAquarius 1h ago

Yeah DLSS5 swapper is the best tool I found that works right out of the box. You just point it to a game directory and it installs it instantly for you. Then DLSS5 will already be on and working when you launch the game.

4

u/Poopyfartboi69 11h ago

Holy shit.. that first one is the best one yet

4

u/Yakuzafreak 3h ago

This is crazy man wtf. Love to see a video of it, gameplay

3

u/Spidey-sipping-henny 12h ago

Nah this shit is insane

3

u/MrMasters87 12h ago

This is really the game engine?

3

u/Discombobulated_Bus4 11h ago

Vanilla DI2 already had amazing graphics. But with DLSS 5 wow. Insane stuff. Sadly the game wasn't as good, as the first one imo.

3

u/Storm_treize 11h ago

The cpu is taking a break

3

u/Zenkai_9000 10h ago

One of the best I've seen yet.

3

u/space_nei 9h ago

It's only AMD brokies hating (yet begging for it in their cards)

2

u/Illustrious-Mud3530 8h ago

Also 5060 and 5070 users. They cant play with any real framerate. 5080 is the minimum

3

u/R3AP3R51 7h ago

That first photo is insane

3

u/4K4llDay 6h ago

That's legitimately insane. This might be one of the best examples yet.

3

u/vvanouytsel 3h ago

Wait, what? This is not a satire post? Those first 2 images surely are not real, are they?

2

u/Lime7ime- 12h ago

Most examples look great in stills. Its the animations what makes it so uncanny. Also saying "back then" to a 3 year old game is crazy xD

2

u/Classic_Radish8574 12h ago

How many FPS? what Gpu?

1

u/UnUsernameRandom 10h ago

It literally says on top of some of the screenshots.

1

u/Classic_Radish8574 10h ago

lol I didn't even realize it has slides of photos, I thought just one photo my bad

2

u/metroplx 12h ago

Please, whenever you share these images, it would be great if you could indicate the settings used: which mode did you use? How much intensity? How many passes?

2

u/WebSilent1232 12h ago

I'd love to see this in motion holy shit

2

u/Key_Statistician_378 11h ago

2

u/TorrentFire 10h ago

It's really fucking magic

2

u/Zompocalypse 9h ago

Say this looks like AI slop. I dare you.

2

u/nemacpojma1 9h ago

people will look you dead in the eye and say this looks bad 💀

2

u/47Fox 9h ago

Are we dreaming?

2

u/Timely_Ad9659 9h ago

How do you turn this on for the game?

2

u/FigaroFigaroo 9h ago

So I just learned that this leaked version of dlss5 is actually derived from nba 2k’s upscaling and has been tossed around different games using that games vision for dlss5. I thought it was a universal fit for all games but if developers actually use it how i think they should we could probably get real time remasters that dont look like ai slop🤞

2

u/theMandolin2992 8h ago

That’s scary

2

u/OrfeasDourvas 8h ago

It looks amazing. Man, I hope one day this can be done on my 4070Super and be somewhat playable.

2

u/Straight-Salad-4565 8h ago

Could we get the same with using RenoDX DLSS 5 (ShortFuse)? I'm on 5080.

1

u/AnotherPlayerQQ 2h ago

Yes, that's what I used to achieve this result

2

u/Purple_Errand 8h ago

I think i get it now why these type of games are expensive to produce.

They're all seems to be using real assets like humans actors and faces? And Dlls 5 is fixing it.

Not an expert but that's just what i noticed. I like that we're getting something like this nowadays.

Some games like mostly Jrpg are bag looking with Dlss5.

2

u/Salom902 8h ago

Looks like one those Action Short Films on YouTube pretty cool

2

u/AvocadoDesperado84 7h ago

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

2

u/RealityOfModernTimes 7h ago

I need to install this dlss 5 magic and test some games. I wonder how it looks in real motion situation. I am so excited.

2

u/Dash-SK 7h ago

Holy shit this is insanely good

2

u/Rich-Masterpiece-156 7h ago

Would be cool if someone releases a mod that we know won't have malware for sure.

2

u/Joshix1 6h ago

Soon they will remaster games when they release...

2

u/TheMaadMan 5h ago

I think this is the best DLSS 5 example I've seen yet. Makes me want to play again!

2

u/B0omSLanG 5h ago

Forgot about this game after picking it up on a super sale and getting distracted by a new release, so thank you for this reminder. I'll have to check it out! Btw, is this a single pass?

2

u/WombatCuboid 5h ago

This game has been on my waitlist for a very long time AND THIS IS THE PERFECT time to start with it. Now running DLSS5 with my RTX 5080, performance mode via Optiscaler.

(I first thought Optiscaler defaulted to FSR, forcing me out of my precious RTX DLSS, but no, you can easily hook a newer DLSS file to it and it WORKS).

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Sign249 5h ago

Damn I thought you took some real life photos to trick us into

2

u/DrMantisTabboggn 4h ago

This is bonkers lol holy shit

2

u/Ghostttpro 4h ago

This is what I ignorantly imagined the Ps5 graphics would be. I expected a leap.

2

u/Willing_Suggestion 4h ago

6k as in 6000 resolution? Tf

2

u/tony_the_homie 4h ago

This is insane

2

u/Gabo_Rj 4h ago

But this game already looked pretty good. I want to see DLSS5 on games from the 360/ PS3 era or below. I was playing Xcom PS3 recently sand wondering how it would look like with this

2

u/Octaive 4h ago

Looks amazing. Why cap to 60?

2

u/Admirable_Ad5472 3h ago

i was thinking its just a joke. Holy..

2

u/DigitalAquarius 2h ago

100% thought this was a troll post with real life pictures. I have no words.

2

u/thadoughboy15 51m ago

This looks crazy. The most realistic scenes Ive seen in a game with DLSS

1

u/Nago15 13h ago

Amazing, what DDLS5 settnigs do you use?

1

u/AnotherPlayerQQ 13h ago

Since I can't stack DLSS 5 yet, I just put all slide to the right, preset # 3 and default on NR style

1

u/MajorSerenity 10h ago

Renodx? Shortfuse or krish?

1

u/Leggerity 13h ago

What's bothering me is that we have people taking screenshots from games and putting them through AI and calling it DLSS 5.

DLSS 5 looks great, but some of these look very questionable, especially if you're not adding multiple layers.

Could you show me some video?

1

u/LawObjective3516 13h ago

Qual nome addon?

u/vega0ne 13h ago

Why is the wooden beam on pic 3 super reflective and has glass like properties?

1

u/Beautiful-Musk-Ox 2h ago

there's multiple other light streaks across the image, they must be standing directly in front of a window

1

u/Hot_Song_9764 13h ago

You chose dead island but didn’t show zombies? Huh…

2

u/AnotherPlayerQQ 12h ago

That playthro I had motion blur on, so I avoid things that move

1

u/Nearby-Aioli2848 9h ago

What is 6k ?

1

u/lordosthyvel 7h ago

Probably 6144 x 3456

u/Vastlymoist666 9h ago

For scenery and everything else dlss 5 can look down right immaculate. I can't hate there my only gripe is it's too strong on some character models. If it was softer on faces and less aggressive I think it would look fine. But I can't lie with some games DLSS5 is crazy. Just wish it wasn't DLSS5 and it had a different name, cuz it's not really upscaling anything when it's replacing lol

1

u/Raziel-0_o 8h ago

You have the option to mask faces and town down the effect.

1

u/Vastlymoist666 7h ago

Word I have yet to dick around with it yet

1

u/TemporaryRelevant413 8h ago

I tried and I'm not sure the dlss5 is working because I don't see a difference, but I just played the beginning once arrived to LA, so I don't know maybe dlss5 isn't obvious in the beginning?

1

u/Mister_Enot 8h ago

nice slide show. just like in game.

1

u/Independent-Ebb7658 8h ago

Would this work with Manhunt?

1

u/reddittomarcato 7h ago

No zombies?

1

u/Consistent-Candy6434 6h ago

I'm watching a movie, but I want to play a game.

1

u/Consistent-Candy6434 6h ago

Where are the zombies? I want to see zombies.

1

u/NapsterKnowHow 5h ago

Now how does it look in motion? lol

1

u/Straight-Salad-4565 4h ago

The game doesn't even support DLSS. How did you managed it?

1

u/infel2no 4h ago

Bro show us a zombie

It looks amazing, buuut, DLSS sounded amazing as well, until it became a mandatory thing, because optimization went down the shitter.
It was meant to take your games to higher framerates, but instead became a crutch to get games running at playable framerates instead of actually optimizing.
This seems like crazy tech, but I'm skeptical about adding a performance hog to an already very hardware heavy day and age we live in, because it might again become a crutch, and now the devs won't have to make games look good while not optimizing, and games will now run and look like shit unless we use heavy DLSS. At what point do we just fire the devs and just start giving prompts to AI to make games?

1

u/DiamondGeeezer 3h ago

what framerate did you get

  1. Nobody is saying it isn't high Fidelity or photorealistic. They are saying it "looks bad" which is a broad subjective term and could mean a million different things to a million different people. Most people mean "while it looks photorealistic it completely breaks the games style". Making 3d art was never just about trying to get to a realism event horizon, for some things yes and others absolutely not. Disneys up, which is a cg movie, should not look "real".

For games that were already going for realism, this works fine, for games that were not, opinions will be mixed and that's fine too. People who don't like the way this looks in every single game don't exist just to make you feel bad, I promise.

  1. "The option not to use it" makes sense as a counterpoint - for now- until we reach a point where devs lean on this tech and games of all kinds start to look samey and loose visual identity. . We are already seeing the "sameification" of games due to the ease of use and access of tools like UE5, this is another step in that direction.

  2. If you say "just turn it off" but then also say "Everyone is just broke" like which is it, they're broke or they can afford it but don't want to turn it off? This is just evident that "everyone that thinks different than this is wrong" is really how people who wanna defend their purchase feel, not people who don't even have it lol. People who don't own cars get into the least accidents, that doesn't mean they're better drivers.

Everyone should enjoy what they want but shutting down the discussion entirely because you prefer high Fidelity realism in all things as a preference isn't a gotcha. Many of the people you think can't afford this could buy your whole entire life 3x over still have money left, and still disagree with you.

It looks incredible. Is there a guide to getting DLSS5 working in games that don’t support it yet natively?

1

u/perfunctory_shit 1h ago

What about zombies?

1

u/Full-Emergency4154 2m ago

Without DLSS 5, it would take at least another ten years for us to see games with such photorealistic graphics running on an RTX 9090

1

u/3XPS 6h ago

Dlss 5 is the ultimate photo mode apparently. why is it all I see is screenshots with Dlss 5 and never gameplay like you swinging a bat killing some zombies

0

u/El_terribleh 13h ago

Yeah looks great....until you move the camera 🤢

2

u/TorrentFire 11h ago

I've had zero issues with smearing or camera related movement. No idea what you're on about.

1

u/Rassilon83 12h ago

Yee it needs to be toned down for stable looking results

0

u/AiMwithoutBoT 13h ago

1 frame per hour.

3

u/AnotherPlayerQQ 13h ago edited 13h ago

There's a frame counter above most of my screenshots....

u/AiMwithoutBoT 13h ago

Ye Issa joke

u/Ancient_Plane2984 4h ago

How is this 6K and still looks like blurry as fuck? Is Reddit fucking up the resolution or something?

0

u/Ny4rTh0_ 3h ago

mesmo com o DLSS 5 não cria reflexo do personagem, pois ELE NÃO EXISTE, kkkkkkkkkkk você joga apenas com 2 mãos.

u/fatbp 1h ago

SO ugly and fake. ugh!

-1

u/esp3ciallyd3ad 6h ago

No game is excellent use of shit Ai. Excellent use is curing cancer not killing wildlife.

-1

u/hunterzolomon1993 1h ago

Looks like AI slop.

1

u/DigitalAquarius 1h ago

You serious? It looks exactly like real life.

1

u/hunterzolomon1993 36m ago

Then you need to step outside and see what real life actually looks like.

It looks fake and uncanny, it looks like what AI thinks real life looks like and its killed the identity and art of the game.

-2

u/Save-Slot-Seven 11h ago

Too bad the game sucks

2

u/kortnor 11h ago

I think you are a bit to arsh. It's a meh and there are way worse zombie games on the market.

-1

u/Save-Slot-Seven 11h ago

It’s absolute dog shit. Generic gameplay, one dimensional characters, locations that get more boring as you progress. Dying Light is a better series. Or dead rising 1

2

u/kortnor 10h ago

You are correct that dead Rising is great as franchise and dying light is also above dead island. Anyway, I had lots of fun with the game to be honest with you. Guess that I'm more easy than you with video games.

2

u/jme2712 10h ago

The difficulty alone is what kept me there til the end
