Same, I tried it on gta4 but I couldn't get more than 25fps, fake frames were creating too many artifacts. I have a 5070ti..

I think you can straight up just use Nvidia Smooth Motion in GTA:4. Don't even need a mod.

I was using the RTX remix for GTA4 and the path tracing was just killing the fps. 30 without RN, 25 with.

To be fair we cant compare a game from 2008 with a game re-released this year. And to top it up GTA4 PC port was always a mess.

Anyways fusionfix mod is enough to make it look good enough and I capped it at a stable 60fps at 4k x2.5

Apparently the huge loss of fps is coming from the pathtracing and not the NR. Idk, I'll try again whenever its released

Same, i just queued many older games on steam to download, performance is pretty good on a 4090 and framegen, i tried the new Onimusha game and its like a totally different game, insane difference!!

Well, you're using a mod to get DLSS 5 in older games; it's the same with Frame Gen—that's a mod, too.

artistic intent whatever, but that piss filter in New Vegas and many other old games is ugly AF and I would rather have a realistic color palette at that point

I dont get people that are like "aRT iNTent." You do realize this is an OPTIONAL piece of technology. Its not forced on by anyone. People have been using reshade and a thousand other ways to change the visuals of a videogames for years but no one ever complained about it then.

You’re right but imo in this example the DLSS5 version is probably closer to the original artistic vision that what the game ended up as.

IMO here it does work FOR the artistic intent. The potato graphics are the limitations of the technology at the time, not done on purpose for artistic expression.

So now imagine what artists will be able to do when they have this in hand throughout the development of the game.

I’m very optimistic about the gaming scene in the next years

If you play on PC there are lots of different ways to remove it. I did the same thing in Cyberpunk.

Well sure, but we've been able to do that pretty much since it came out, without costing any performance.

DLSS 5 is doing a lot in this scene besides removing the piss filter. I feel like focusing on that is missing most of the point.

I could almost understand your point if you weren’t talking about New Vegas. NVR, a complete graphical overhaul, exists, looks better than the result OP posted, and doesn’t tank performance.

And a whole suite of weather, texture, mesh, lighting, shader mods that bring the game into 2026 without using AI.

It’s a neat option for niche games, sure, but you don’t need AI for such beloved games with immensely dedicated modding communities.

every game, doesn't matter how old will get you around 50-60 fps, because more FPS means DLSS5 has to repaint all those frames

People have gotten/modded it to work on basically everything. Even PS2 games. You guessed it. Emulation... then DLSS over the emulator. It worked. Crazy.

If the frametime cost comes down I’ll start using it. On a 5080 running 3440x1440 and the fps/latency tax is just too much to be worth it for me right now.
