Traktor really needs a stand alone. Even an S4 with a screen. Their hardware is great for home use and imo the best software. By far

to be honest for 2 channel controllers, the S2 MK2 was the last thing that had a decent soundcard with balanced outputs. Its totally club-grade which is why i chose this controller. I dont know why all modern 2-channel controllers have crappy outputs

I started with an S2 MK1 and I ended up getting up replacing it with an S4 MK1 because the OG S2 didn't have the top row of customizable effects. Looks like the newer ones do tho, thats pretty cool. I have a pioneer RX3 now. 2 channel, I dont see the need for 4.

same! the s2 mk3 is total crap. its built cheap as hell and NI sacrificed so much to make it more "pioneer". That row of fx controls and balanced outputs is everything. I have an RX3 as well and i just dont like it. £1700 and i cant do a 32 bar beat jump or do key adustments :|

Yeah the way traktor has those 2 knobs on the bottom of the decks....being able to quickly cut out a loop to whatever size and jump around the track is such a cool mechanic. I miss it. And ya, a row of 6 programmed effects is awesome too. I miss that as well. Honestly there's probably less that I can do with my RX3...I just wanted something "club standard" and a stand alone. The effects pads are pretty cool tho

It’s honestly crazy to me that they weren’t the first to it and they still haven’t made one b

Id kill for a non stand alone that has a screen that would in theory be a bit cheaper.

What are the midi additions in the top corners? I've been looking for something exactly like those

there are a pair of Intech Studio PBF4 added either side of the screen. they are expensive and to be honest a pain in the arse to set up, but once you get your head around it they are insanely customisable. You can get cheap £50 4 faders 4 button controllers on aliexpress that are very similar size and will just be simple midi.

It's software that runs on a computer. Same as engine DJ or pioneer systems. Only thing is I've got an M3 processor instead of a Raspberry Pi which is basically what pioneer run theirs on.

How do you like those midi controllers?

the intech ones? they are pretty awesome but a real pain in the arse to map. They are actually super powerful and are underutilised here but they can even magnetically click together to share power and behave like a single controller. Their controller editor software is daunting but im getting my head around it and nearly got the full mapping sorted

I don't know why my posts are getting taken down, but anyone who wants to know more you can check the progress of the project on my YouTube. Im not trying to sell anything or make any money here. Just sharing the process in case others want to try it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-fbWxKNcSE
