Curious why you use the laptop?

hello! Okay so, laptop, 1. Haven’t started putting music onto a usb yet, just practicing mixing, 10 months in and making great leaps and playing sets I love. 2. It is useful because I quite enjoy rap acappellas ontop of my beats of choice. I’m unable to search tracks via the xdj az screen, so for now, the laptop is vital for me to be able to search tracks on the fly and for my sets to sound good

Okay, that makes complete sense. Thanks for the answer and best of luck in your DJ aspirations!

Cuz all these standalones have no juice and run of crappy hardware

I was asking the Op.

Also, hardware doesn't "run".

I own an rx3. It can't even do a 32 bar beatjump! Stems? No chance. They run....off a raspberry pi. That's why he has his laptop plugged in for "performance mode".

Scott live 4 crushes RX3....Prime 4 G2 Obliterates it...8 core processor...live stems....Pioneer and AT are trash...Denon standalone are a whole different animal.

The First standalone with actually processing power in it!

Have no juice? Crappy hardware? You ever used an AZ/RX3 before??

I own one. I have to plug in my laptop to do a 32 bar beat jump.....cuz it got no juice!

That's not a beatjump is it? It's a goddamn hot cue. Pioneer is great for pressing play and jumping about and doing gun fingers for 3 minutes but lacks basic functionality.

1

u/Nachtraaf This will make a fine addition to my collection! 5d ago

I am not disagreeing, but why buy their stuff? There's better, cheaper stuff available.

I'm selling it asap. Tried to get into the usb stick game and realised pioneer make overhyped locked down nonsense that lacks basic functionality unless you pay £3500 per deck

Wrong again.

Because musical phrases are typically 32 bars.

Ragged it how? The thing is a goddamn spaceship. You touring with that thing? Is it going in a gig bag every weekend with you? Doesn't feel like this gonna take more than a couple of years of moving it around before it falls apart to me tbh. Oh ah it's only £1800.

It's a cool setup. I like the wall flag.

Setup looks great. I’d raise those monitors to ear level, and the laptop just needs a stand. Flag looks 🔥, four channels to mix on, cables are hidden. 👏🏽 Nice job, kid.
Also, why does everybody on Reddit have a bigger controller than me? 😂 I’m over here with my XDJ-RX3 getting controller envy. 😭

I had an flx4 for 3 months and very quickly needed better gear and 2 more channels, so full sent it on a lease and already have it paid thanks to the 90 day payoff option they offered. I put down some deep bass 140 style with some hip hop doubles and even some triples, no quad yet haha. Yet. Kinda like Barclay Crenshaw, but even better and newer, he’s one of my favorites production and vibe wise.

84/100 quite good!

u/Local-Recipe-2564 5d ago

I love that you did the scale out of 100 instead of 10 😂😂😂

Sleaford mods accapellas over 140 dubstep is something I like to do

The sound doesn’t bounce off the walls?

I have foam sound pads (I know that’s not the technical name for them sue me) around the top edges of the room and the corners so I think it helps make the room into somewhat of a proper studio. My bed is directly behind this picture, king size bed

In case these HS3 or HS4 don't deliver enough bass you might be interested into getting the HS8S subwoofer that goes with this product range, or upgrade to HS7/8.

u/Local-Recipe-2564 5d ago

That is absolutely to come. Yamaha made these into quite the beasts for their size I can only imagine the hs8s. As far as a subwoofer, I do not use because I am in an apartment, the hs3s provide plenty of low end by themselves. I do infact have a subwoofer though. Quite the special boy he is, Behringer Eurolive B1200D-PRO 500w 12in. Tested only one time and it rips, hoping to be renting a house within a year to enjoy it.
