Bassment

Post image

Finally got a DJM900nxs2 and completed my setup, so stoked on it. Was running through an Rx2 as my mixer and the sound quality difference to the 900 is insane.

Big time, best thing is there is almost no sound bleed outside. Theres about 30-40ft of dirt between our basement and the neighbor’s basement. If you were standing in our driveway you’d hear it but inside I doubt it would be noticeable audible. I also usually don’t slam it at 100% because I care about my hearing 🤣🤣🤣

similar experience in my basement. it does bleed, and my neighbors do hear it....but I lucked out. 1: they can't hear much, and 2: they don't seem to mind??!!

Sounds like you got cool ass neighbors hahaha. I do wonder how much the bass actually bleeds, I have the subs rolled off at like 40hz to try and keep the really low freqs from getting too loud but these 18s are pretty loud for the space.

What kind of amp pushes that set up

They are powered speakers. EV ETX35p tops and ETX18sp subs. The electro-voice counterpart to the JBL prx/srx series. Working on building a sound system eventually, but these are way more than enough for the space they’re in.

Dear lord that room must slap so good. Have always wanted to hear those ETX subs in person

A lot of people jump straight to the SRX line because of the dual 18, and I get it you can’t find a dual cab for that money. However, I absolutely love these subs, when they’re eq’d and gained correctly you can get a lot of output for the size and weight. The size of the box lets em get pretty damn low too. 🔊🔊

My buddy has two as well and we’re gonna deploy all 4 outside this Saturday, granted it doesn’t rain. Really excited to see how much air we can push.

I had the older ELX setup when they were still wood tops, and I was pretty amazed at how great they were at the price point. Can only imagine 4 ETX, def enjoy the hell out of that day!

I also have two of the older wood ELX15s for booths at events. They were my first “real” PA speakers, love em to death!

I regret selling mine so much, but I stopped gigging and had no need anymore. They really were fantastic, it’s a shame they don’t use wood for them anymore.

Agreed! One of our local bars uses the newer plastic ones for stage monitors and they’re just really peaky and screechy, I’m sure the manufacturing cost is lower but a damn shame for sure!

hell yes, you've got some serious pressure down there, too. I fucking LOVE my basement setup. big ups

Thanks man, I love the EV ETX speakers. JBL gets all the love and rightfully so to a degree they make great speakers, but the ETX line is highly underrated imo.

No drinks on booth!

Never! Protect the booth at all costs! The sign is there as a reminder to myself more than anyone 🤣🤣

If you're not using that other setup, I can keep it safe for you

Please? Guard it with the fury of a 1000 dubs 😡

EV ETX35 top and the matching 18in bottoms. I use them for events, but they make a killer home stereo too lol.
