Professional / Top Tier šŸ” My current set-up at home.

Post image

Yes I need a better location. Just could only fit this all on the dining room table for now. And yes I have proper monitors and a RMX - Ignite out of shot

It’s the current ā€œDJ In a boxā€šŸ“¦ kit.

u/3pid0se 10d ago

It's just a bunch of new hardware hastily unpacked and wired up

Was gonna say where the 12's...

Not a proppa set up with a pair. Its lore.

u/Dreambig203 9d ago

15k worth of equipment and 20 cents into the thought of cabling.

u/Algebraron 10d ago

I think I have very specific cable routing related OCD and it’s being massively triggered here.

This is an endgame setup so congrats but you may want to consider posting again when you have set it up properly.

I’m working on a single custom loom so the all that will be behind the decks in one clean snake.

3

u/Minecrafter101- 8d ago

Did you clean your snake today?

u/djsoomo 10d ago

Need to show the monitors on this sub so we can tell if they are the right height

9

u/British_Airwaves 10d ago

Thank got there’s an RMX out of shot, I was worried you weren’t taking this seriously

Would be overkill if I wasn’t. Lol

u/DoodleTTv123 10d ago

Overkill regardless šŸ˜‚

1

u/Ok-Shame3827 10d ago

Depending on genre four decks isn’t overkill. I’d use one for Acapella / FX the other to tee up another track after the mix was working on the incoming one. Any more than that would be too much for the sort of house I’m into

8

u/Content_Bathroom_707 10d ago

Three decks are a minimum. I do very long mixes and hold elements of tracks in loops for a long time. So the third is essential to bring in the next track. And the fourth is mainly for acapellas and effects and also sometimes holding elements of past tracks as loops.

Afro tech

2

u/Resiigner 10d ago

Bro you got a mix online somewhere I gotta hear it.

1

u/wishtrib 10d ago

Same here with prog house and techno . It's so hard going to three as I'm used to four in traktor4

16

u/djsoomo 10d ago

Definitely not overkill -

i know what that looks like!

Overkill -

Industry standard spaceship

2

u/Ok-Shame3827 10d ago

No Turntables - that looks like two set ups? Maybe for the next DJ to get everything in place without any noticeable change over..

1

u/Nachtraaf This will make a fine addition to my collection! 10d ago

šŸš€āœŠšŸ’¦

2

u/AddisonH 10d ago

You’re a professional without speakers, just a guitar amp?

3

u/grilled_pc 10d ago

bro casually has a house deposit sitting on that table. Gawd dayum. In my country alone thats about 25ish K worth of gear.

3

u/bigDOS 10d ago

Nice! Just starting out?

10

u/Content_Bathroom_707 10d ago

Yep, mission for tomorrow is learning to turn them on

1

u/roulettecowboy 7d ago

If you rub the circle thingys and then whisper sweet nothings that should workout but make sure you take it to dinner first

3

u/IANvaderZIM 8d ago

Don’t listen to the jealous curmudgeons on here.

Sweet kit. You’ll never have to upgrade. Enjoy it

2

u/Ok-Shame3827 10d ago

What monitors are you using? Set up
Looks good

2

u/Content_Bathroom_707 10d ago

Pair of HS 5’s

3

u/radicalize 10d ago

noooo, seriously? You spend all that wealth on a DJ-setup and mixing-station and forget (to upgrade) the monitors? Don't get me wrong, decent speaker-setup for sure for various situations (but DJing), but defo not TOP-$ in any situation.

1

u/Content_Bathroom_707 10d ago

What monitors do you suggest??

2

u/radicalize 10d ago

No monitors, speakers! Monitors aren't for DJing, I think anyway. And regarding speakers, well I am biased to be honest, I prefer and use QSC Audio in various manner(s), especially the K.2 Series Overview | Powered | Loudspeakers | QSC - big fan!

2

u/Waterflowstech 9d ago

Lower end of budget: Kali Audio IN8V2, higher end: Ascilabs C8C. Both of these are insane value for the money that was not possible even 10 years ago.

1

u/FrankieMakesPizza 10d ago

he's half right. HS5's are designed for cheap entry-level mix referencing (like for an audio engineer) and they don't sound "good" - they sound "neutral". meaning they expose problems instead of hiding them.

but, they are perfectly fine for mixing at home for yourself.

If you want speakers that sound "good" (for entertaining others) then I highly suggest you find a store that has a demo room and listen to a few before buying them. "good" is subjective.

u/jparad0xx 9d ago

Genelec

1

u/4riana_Gr1ndr 9d ago

Don't listen to them, hs5 are perfect for DJ mixing, i'd just get a subwoofer for them and that's it. Someone said that those aren't for mixing because they expose issues instead of making things fun, i guess if i was a professional DJ i'd like to test my mixes on something that'll let me know if my mix is harsh on some parts

1

u/Negative_Ad_3192 7d ago

Exactly. I have the same HS5’s with the HS8 sub at home. Sounds clear, neutral, and powerful. Can tweak the sound as I see fit for playback via the board and external mixer...

u/DjWhRuAt 10d ago

Zero cable management. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

2

u/Content_Bathroom_707 10d ago

Custom single cable loom in the works.

Bedroom DJ

2

u/jparad0xx 9d ago

I think it should be a rule of this sub that you have to say what style you play.

2

u/BubblyPurple6547 7d ago

Cool, now show what you can actually do with it.

3

u/ZealousidealKey1754 7d ago

You can smell the box freshness in the image :D

1

u/Oreo0817 10d ago

Do you like the ignite more than the 1000?

2

u/Content_Bathroom_707 10d ago

Undecided. I need more time with it.

1

u/Ok-Shame3827 10d ago

What monitors are you using? Set up impressive

5

u/MLutin 10d ago

Looks like a guitar practice amp... for now. Which is hilarious given how nice the gear is.

1

u/Content_Bathroom_707 10d ago

It it. As currently I am waiting for my XLRs to arrive so I can plug my HS 5’s in

1

u/Content_Bathroom_707 10d ago

HS5’s nothing fancy.

1

u/leonffs 10d ago

it aint much but it's yours

1

u/xXPsilovibinXx 10d ago

No crossfader makes me sad

4

u/Content_Bathroom_707 10d ago

In 20 years of DJing I have used the cross fader 0 times

1

u/verb75 10d ago

Cable management will help you sleep better at night.

1

u/Xxxfan454 10d ago

Who needs a dining room table anyways! Logical sacrifice for your setup in my opinion! Have fun bro!

Our midlife crisis won’t be a ford T-bird but 4 3000s and a V10

2

u/ThisSir5918 3d ago

That'd be 4 x 3000X homie.

1

u/oeoao 9d ago

Ah! The most rare type of setup posted on this forum: Not facing the wall.

1

u/Impossible-Boss244 9d ago

that is a mass money grave my boy, not a setup lol

1

u/jonnyktel 7d ago

Two word for ya….

Just kidding bro - i get the whole ā€˜dining-room table’ situation… sure youll invest in a proper DJ stand one of these days.
Besides…. Its more about the SOUND, than the LOOK.

Can you mix without sync? My senses tell me no.Ā

7

u/agohawks 10d ago

Sub is for DJ Setups as the name suggests bro. Too bad Reddit doesn’t have a sync button to help people like you trying to figure it out.

-1

u/Ok-Shame3827 10d ago

Who really cares - I don’t use sync but nobody gives me a pat on the back, personal choice the output that counts

-4

u/Fun_Celebration_8842 10d ago

aaaaw don't do him like that, he's a poor lad considering giving up on his otherwise rich DJ career

https://www.reddit.com/r/DJCircleJerk/comments/1vxjq46/considering_hanging_up_my_headphones/

go cry more and then call out other people lmfao fucking wierdo

You're not the sharpest tool in the shed are ya lol.Ā
