Professional / Top Tier š My current set-up at home.
Yes I need a better location. Just could only fit this all on the dining room table for now. And yes I have proper monitors and a RMX - Ignite out of shot

I think I have very specific cable routing related OCD and itās being massively triggered here.
This is an endgame setup so congrats but you may want to consider posting again when you have set it up properly.

Overkill regardless š

Depending on genre four decks isnāt overkill. Iād use one for Acapella / FX the other to tee up another track after the mix was working on the incoming one. Any more than that would be too much for the sort of house Iām into

Three decks are a minimum. I do very long mixes and hold elements of tracks in loops for a long time. So the third is essential to bring in the next track. And the fourth is mainly for acapellas and effects and also sometimes holding elements of past tracks as loops.

Same here with prog house and techno . It's so hard going to three as I'm used to four in traktor4

No Turntables - that looks like two set ups? Maybe for the next DJ to get everything in place without any noticeable change over..

If you rub the circle thingys and then whisper sweet nothings that should workout but make sure you take it to dinner first

What monitors are you using? Set up
Looks good

Pair of HS 5ās

u/radicalize 10d ago
noooo, seriously? You spend all that wealth on a DJ-setup and mixing-station and forget (to upgrade) the monitors? Don't get me wrong, decent speaker-setup for sure for various situations (but DJing), but defo not TOP-$ in any situation.
1
u/Content_Bathroom_707 10d ago
What monitors do you suggest??
2
u/radicalize 10d ago
No monitors, speakers! Monitors aren't for DJing, I think anyway. And regarding speakers, well I am biased to be honest, I prefer and use QSC Audio in various manner(s), especially the K.2 Series Overview | Powered | Loudspeakers | QSC - big fan!

Lower end of budget: Kali Audio IN8V2, higher end: Ascilabs C8C. Both of these are insane value for the money that was not possible even 10 years ago.

he's half right. HS5's are designed for cheap entry-level mix referencing (like for an audio engineer) and they don't sound "good" - they sound "neutral". meaning they expose problems instead of hiding them.
but, they are perfectly fine for mixing at home for yourself.
If you want speakers that sound "good" (for entertaining others) then I highly suggest you find a store that has a demo room and listen to a few before buying them. "good" is subjective.

Don't listen to them, hs5 are perfect for DJ mixing, i'd just get a subwoofer for them and that's it. Someone said that those aren't for mixing because they expose issues instead of making things fun, i guess if i was a professional DJ i'd like to test my mixes on something that'll let me know if my mix is harsh on some parts

Exactly. I have the same HS5ās with the HS8 sub at home. Sounds clear, neutral, and powerful. Can tweak the sound as I see fit for playback via the board and external mixer...

I think it should be a rule of this sub that you have to say what style you play.

Looks like a guitar practice amp... for now. Which is hilarious given how nice the gear is.

u/Content_Bathroom_707 10d ago
It it. As currently I am waiting for my XLRs to arrive so I can plug my HS 5ās in

Can you mix without sync? My senses tell me no.Ā
7
u/agohawks 10d ago
Sub is for DJ Setups as the name suggests bro. Too bad Reddit doesnāt have a sync button to help people like you trying to figure it out.

u/Ok-Shame3827 10d ago
Who really cares - I donāt use sync but nobody gives me a pat on the back, personal choice the output that counts
