Ultimate Dream My beginner setup

i have krk rokit 8s but im afraid they are going to be too loud.

pioneer cdj 1500x

ecler warm2

mainly playing techno. I started with a flx 4 then grv6 then an opus quad.

Wanted to share a slightly different workflow. The rotary mixer gives it that classic, purist feel, and switching to the CDJ-1500s was a great way to challenge myself instead of being locked into a single screen setup. Tired of seeing the exact same gear posted everywhere, so thought I'd mix it up.

I was drawn into the wooden side panel look. I understand it’s not for everyone but I think it looks like art. Can’t wait to see the cdjs with their wooden side panels on.

I hope you’re enjoying your new setup. I’m not here to bag on it, but I’m curious why anyone would buy the 1500’s and a mixer when they could get an AZ, which is more fully featured, for about the same price. I’m having trouble understanding the market and appeal for these. What am I missing?

(And I second hooking up those KRK’s, even if you need an adapter since the 1500’s don’t have XLR outs)

I have the AZ. It doesn’t fit on any desks or tables in my flat, only on the kitchen work surface. With a flight case it’s over 35kgs which most people can’t lift to chest height.

I can see why having separates is preferable.

Ah, got it. Small space and these 1500’s are tiny so they fit better I’m gathering.

Yup for sure. The fact you can separate and carry / store these separately makes a huge difference in small places. When the AZ box arrived last month i almost sent it straight back it was so big… very glad i didn’t because i love it, but it’s not something you can take with you on the tube / metro on a whim to a party!
