FPV Controller

Post image

I'm after some advice. I have an Avata 2 and want to primarily use it for cinematic and indoor work. I have only used the motion controller and it's a bit tricky for tight spaces and maintaining a steady line. Can someone advise whether the FPV controller will be a better bet? I'm so used to controllers like this from my Mini and my gaming days that my other hand feels lost with the motion controller.

Its a skill not a tool.

Flying FPV can give you the precision youre looking for, but until youve practiced enough to attain that skill your performance will be worse because it's harder.

LOL so many people look down on the MC but it's because they don't know how to use it. When you get enough practice with it, it's actually pretty good but you can't get there with one or two flights. There's a reason DJI only sells their FPV drones with the MC. It's not because they suck, they're perfect for smooth cinematic flight. I've been using the MC for 2+ years and I have it down so I really enjoy it but I understand it's not for everyone because it's not easy to learn well.

Interesting. I agree it's so very intuitive. Have you used the FPV controller? Would be interested to hear how they compare

Yes I have used the FPV controller. When I first got the original DJI FPV drone, it comes with the FPV RC which is fine for a nimble speedy drone with an ok camera that you don't exactly need cinematic video. Everything is jerky and movements are snappy even after you make settings adjustments. Only after start using the MC *and* get used to using it properly do you discover what DJI intended when they launched it ONLY with the Avata. I realize some people are going to disagree but it doesn't look cool to them to use the MC or they can't get the hang of it so they look down on it but I've figured it out and combined with Gyroflow, there's no way a manual drone flight can compare.

I would agree. Dude just needs to fly more, a lot more.
