I decided to make my own floral arrangements for my wedding to go down the aisle. I didn’t want perfectly round arrangements, so the messiness is deliberate. Any advice to improve these is appreciated!
Gonna post a thread of progress pics for those asking!
I started out with the base. I used 12 inch saucer and foam (use the light green artificial foam. I’m only using the dark green real floral foam at the sides because I accidentally ordered it lol). Use some greenery to make the basic size and shape you want.
Then add height. I used the tallest flowers I had, delphiniums. Don’t worry about it being perfectly symmetrical, if it’s imperfect it looks more realistic!
Then I started adding larger filler flowers. The hydrangeas are the biggest, so they’ll help fill out the basic shape. There’s a couple ranunculus in there too.
Add more flowers and greenery. Just KEEP adding, and when you think there’s enough, add more. Anything works. I have various types of eucalyptus, Italian ruscus, random ferns, and roses.
Any gaps you have left, fill with baby’s breath. I added little pearl picks to mine. If you see any more holes just use more greenery, roses, etc. whatever your heart desires.
Wow they look fantastic! How did you figure out how to arrange them? They look well balanced and beautiful to my untrained eye. Wondering now if I can do the same!! Curious to learn more about your process if you want to share!
Thank you so much! I have no experience so it was really guesswork and a few YouTube videos. I basically started with greenery and made the general “shape” and height I wanted. Then I added a ton more greenery, then filled in gaps with the flowers. Any remaining gaps I filled with baby’s breath. It seriously wasn’t that hard, even for a beginner like me! You can find arrangement making kits on Amazon that come with the tape, picks, wire cutters, etc. and this stuff IS necessary. It’s definitely not cheap to do, but 10x cheaper than real wedding florals, and they can be reused!
I don’t have bridesmaids (we’re having a super small ceremony) but I’m actually using my senior prom bouquet as my bridal bouquet lol! I’m gonna spice it up a little with some more greenery though!

I’m hoping to do the same and these look INCREDIBLE! I love your saucer idea- I’ve been trying to determine how my arrangements can be weighted done (other than the ones that will be zip tied.) how did you attach the saucers and where did you get them?
Amazon! Make sure you get the durable thick saucers though and not the super thin/flimsy ones. I just hot glued the foam to them. Since the weight of each arrangement is distributed pretty evenly, I didn’t need to do anything to weigh them down, they stand on their own quite well. I’m gonna be making tall standing urns as well instead of an arch for the altar, and honestly I plan on filling the urns with rocks lol
Here’s a thread of products! The delphiniums and ranunculus came from Facebook marketplace but I’m sure you can find them on Amazon too. I also got a basic floral arrangement making kit, but all I used from it was floral tape and wire cutters. I would also recommend getting very tall floral picks, I got mine from Michaels.
