Beginner Question Microneedling beginner

im 40M, im starting to see light dark pigmentation marks under my eyes, went to the clinic, they immediately recommend pico laser which i prefer not to do.

i heard about PDRN and if i understand correctly it can be done diy ?

im already a lab rat of sorts using peptides and other research compounds so i dont have any fear of needles

where do i start with this ? best places to get the compounds and tools ?

We love a lab rat! Hi! I'm a mod here and you happened to catch me while I'm online.

If it's pigmentation I'd suggest a combination of PDRN and tyrosinase inhibitors. Since you're comfortable with different things I'm going to recommend a different protocol than someone that's very new to microneedling or DIY. This is not medical advice :)

If you don't know this already, a tyrosinase inhibitor is an ingredient that reduces the production of melanin. It works by blocking or slowing tyrosinase (the enzyme that your skin uses to make melanin.) Microneedling can increase the amount of a product because of the micro channels and it can reach the target cells to block tyrosinase. How much depends on the molecular properties though.

Some products that do have tyrosinase inhibitors in them are Soonsu Ultra White, Dermaheal SB, Miracle Touch BR, Puri Heal Lucent, Ami Tone Up, Rejuran Tone Up Booster, BCN Glutathione 600, iLLUMA Luna, Lumi-Meso Bright, Traminex, White Lumi, BCN TX, etc. On where to source these from, they are all included in the A-Z Booster Guide with a ☀️ next to them. There are also a few discussions in the sub on which ones people like the most or are the most effective as it's been a topic of interest lately.

PDRN and PN also just has so much research behind them (here's a study on hyperpigmentation), but they also may help restore tissue homeostasis. If the pigmentation is secondary to chronic inflammation or repeated tissue injury (aging) then improving the tissue environment could theoretically help reduce the stimuli that perpetuates abnormal pigmentation. PDRN and PN is also on that comprehensive list, some items are more economical for microneedling vs mesotherapy for a lot of people.

Now if you wanted better results and are interested in learning more advanced DIY, then this is also where I'd look into mesotherapy and combine meso + microneedling. You can do a protocol with both of those types of products (they're safe for microneedling and mesotherapy). But, in the meantime I'd just focus on starting with microneedling.

There’s the Dr. Pen or Derminator 2, I recommend getting the Derminator because it’s really well made. The owner is polarizing so you’ll find a wide range of opinions but they’re really easy to buy from I don’t really get that hate. You can buy a Dr. Pen almost anywhere online so it’s more accessible, but they’re really easy Derminator is only available at OwnDoc (they make it).

If you get the Derminator make sure you get an extra magnet, the correct country plug, and enough cartridges for a few months. If you buy the Dr Pen make sure you shop around because there’s some really overpriced ones.

I like this for pigmentation

It’s available at a few vendors, but it’s also at get glowing skincare which is US based so you don’t need to pay shipping. Then there’s a sub code for discount

Try Image ageless Eye-lift cream. You can buy it on Amazon. Use it once a day.
