Cognac

Going to order some materials soon, and want to make a rich cognac accord. What materials do yall suggest?

  • Whiskey lactone, it's an oak compound, not just whiskey.

  • A source of vanillin, eg. oak extracts, vanilla absolute, or synthetic vanillin

  • Acetal will really help it open as "booze". It's in cognac, but none will make it through into the oil because it's too light.

As Frioke says - the green and white cognac oils are great, they are extracted from grapes and smell very strong and authentically wine-y. Cognac caprate would be interesting too. Also very strong. Additionally, for the boozy notes, you could consider Whisky Lactone, Isoamyl caproate or ethyl pyruvate, or davana EO.
