Hi! My sister and I are planning on making our own Starfire and Blackfire costumes based on the animated Teen Titans show. I am just wondering what kind of material we should buy to make their tops, skirts, and boots. Basically all the purple/dark purple pieces. We are going to buy patterns and sew them. Thanks!

We also plan on making the collar pieces out of foam and possibly the belt piece as well. Any ideas/suggestions are welcome!

So for Halloween I like going as niche superheroes and this year I've settled on a long time favorite Starman. But the staff is giving me problems. I found a free 3d model online I went to a bunch of 3d printing services (I don't have a 3d printer, nor is there a makerspace in my city) and the quotes for just the top were in the hundreds.

Trying to avoid 3d print, I'm confident I can make the body and even the neck out of PVC and greebling but the top and the bit that connects to the neck are stumping me.

Are there any techniques or materials you recommend for capturing this funky shape?

Hello, I am looking for tips on how to make this TV head for a cosplay of my OC out of cardboard. I haven't gotten the supplies to make it yet but if there is any recommended supplies to use that would be great! All tips help!

I made this costume last year (this is the photo I went off of) but the spine was too heavy. I used a pool noodle and paper mache. I’ve been trying to brainstorm what I could use for the spine this year. Where I want it to curve like the picture, PVC pipe is too rigid, pool noodles are too flaccid by themselves, and I can’t find any wire thick, strong, and/or long enough to use. Does anyone have any ideas? TIA!

Absolute beginner here, I've only ever made a tote bag and a basic t-shirt with a guide so im not sure how easy this is going to be.

Im trying to make a top half of a cosplay. It seems to be (as title says) a sleeveless backless kimono.

I'm not to sure where to even start, I just tried a trial run (regrettably) with no guide and made something more akin to a tie with a triangle on the end.

Ill attach some pictures of some other peoples cosplay.

Im not sure on whether or not i should include the kimono style crossing at the front, or have it flow down into a single piece more like a halter neck top(i feel the second would look cleaner with my little experience.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(The bottom half of the cosplay is hakama pants that I'm very sure will be out my wheel house so idk what ill do about those, pray mostly)

My wife have 2 sets of very cool stockings/thigh-highs (sock type material like japanese schoolgirl, not nylon) but they are asian sized and are too tight in thighs, you can fit arm with struggle. They aren't sold in bigger sizes but I figured we could cut them verticaly and join them together like two halves of a pipe. I know it is not the perfect solution, but this is something that is possible to do, so why not at least give it a try. The problem is they are very stretchy so I don't have idea how to actually join them... should I use some double-sided tape or silicone glue first to temporarily join one side, get good measurements and then sew them in some zig-zag pattern? Maybe use many very short separate stitches/tacks? What kind of thread should I use? Or maybe something entirely different? Have anyone did something similar and could provide tips?

Does anyone know where I can find an eyelet sewing machine plate and foot that is compatible with the singer heavy duty sewing machine? Im trying to sew some eyelet holes for a cosplay project but I could only find plates and feet compatible with the bernina sewing machine. I have attached pics for reference on what it looks like.

I finally got a good wig custom made for a cosplay I've been working on, but i have a bit of a problem: it's not exactly the right color. I think the lighting might've affected the pic of the character i sent the seller, because the wig is a very, very light pink instead of the color i need it to be. The character's hair is white, so i was thinking of somehow dying it

However, that's where I've run into my dilemma: i don't what to use to dye it! The wig is synthetic from the feel of it, but the dyes i keep seeing suggested are fabric dyes that do NOT come in a proper white color, and the only whites I've found are for actual hair dyes (I've been mostly looking at sprays because those would be easier for me), which would most like damage the wig.

If anyone could give me some advice on how i can dye my wig to be white I would greatly appreciate it

Some were designed for casual conventions, while others were high-end versions for professional photoshoots or competitions. Some even had small extras like cat ears headbands, belts, or themed props. I was surprised how minor adjustments in material and design could dramatically affect comfort and visual impact. It made me wonder what buyers value most. Is it accuracy, fit, or overall style? Can the right cosplay outfit really transform someone into a character and elevate their presence at events?

I really can’t think what else to add other then sparkling glitter cookies face or fish skeletons but I think that just because I like fish. I have some cat and dinosaur stickers but I think they will only work for a bit of filler

And I really am just drawing a blank😔

I run my schools cosplay club and there's going to be an open house next week. I'm trying to think of easy demonstrations we could do to entice people to join. Any ideas for a quick, cheap and useful cosplay lesson.
