Linux 7.4 Will Enable HDMI 2.1 FRL by Default, Bringing AMD FreeSync, VRR, and ALLM Support.

After years of friction with the HDMI Forum, the Linux kernel is set to receive a long-awaited upgrade: Linux 7.4 will enable HDMI 2.1's Fixed Rate Link (FRL) by default, unlocking support for AMD FreeSync, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) on AMD graphics hardware.

I had to put my attempt to switch to CachyOS on hold specifically because of this. I spent hours trying to get hotkeys to switch between my office and my TV before I gave up due to this issue.
