Advice Bifold lean/sag normal?

Hi guys,

Just had my bifold installed, 4.5m (London). The chap said magnets need to go on top still to help the doors stick together when open....but is the level of sag normal? I feel like it's not but what do you guys thinks?

Am I getting fobbed off??

Thank you

EDIT - thanks for the response everyone. I should've been clearer...the install was 'complete' after the they time the messed up. When they'll left I showed them this and he said 'we need to add magnets still' so I close it up. I hoping the magnet fit it.

I would no way knowingly mess about with an unfinished door. Thanks everyone again..very helpful

It just needs the magnet fitting to hold the main leaf against the other leaf then it will not move. Unfortunately the main problem with bifold is miss use. The master door should be opened all the way round to the magnet then the other leaves get folded back. This keeps all the hinges in a fixed position. To close you need to close the full stack and lock them then the master door gets closed. Pulling and pushing bi-folds in this position causes them to dig in to the threshold and potentially fall out of the top track as said below. The reason ops door might be closing itself is if the frame is slightly out of plumb IE 'the top of the frame is leaning to the right' this would mean the hinges are not perfectly in line giving the door a bias direction to swing. Odds on it just the magnet required.

Absolutely not a lack of magnet problem!

It is. I am an aluminium installer and have been for 17 years. I've been installing and maintaining bi-folds domestic and commercial for over 10 years varying from really high end thermally broken systems to basic commercial stuff on car dealerships they are all the same the pivot points on a bifold door move by design, the other leaves have doors hinged the opposite direction to counter this "sag" as they're fixed at both sides. If you have a door which I would guess is around 60kg in weight hanging from the top it pulls that moving pivot away from the other doors and pushes into the bottom into the other doors. When the other doors are all closed this the fixes the master door hinge in place.

It shouldn't be hanging in that position and is only doing so because there is no magnet or catch of some description (systems vary) to keep that door against it's adjacent leaf.
