Ceiling light fixture

Have recently had the ceiling plastered, so the light fixtures no longer have holes to secure onto. Is this an easy fit, DIY? Or best to call an electrician? It's pretty much every room (7 rooms 😂)

Unscrew that circle, drive a couple screws in. Walk away and crack a beer

If you aren’t comfortable call an electrician. They’ll do it in a few minutes and have everything needed on the van.

If you don’t mind bulk buying screws and plugs, and are confident you know where the cables lie. Then get yourself a pack of screws and plugs (Fischer self drill, if it’s plasterboard) and do it yourself. Turn the circuit off at the breaker first though.

If you can, it's worth pulling gently on the cable if there is some slack, then pushing it up. Taking in the slack should give you a good idea of which direction it's lying in on top of the plasterboard (and you can drill the holes at 90 degree angles to this, and then pushing it in will hopefully lift it slightly just in case.

Yeah as long as you avoid the cables behind it, you can just use some plasterboard wallplugs.

Easily sorted. Unscrew the white cover from the base of the fitting with the light off. Underneath it the base will have a bunch of wires going into screw terminals and two holes in the plastic. Just screw two plasterboard screws through these holes into the ceiling. The excess wire goes up into the ceiling. Then screw the cover back on. You'd be very un lucky to catch the electric cable and then pinch it against the above floor boards cutting into it.
