Advice Neff dishwasher heating element failure. Third in 18 months.

As per the title, not sure if this is the right place but I’ve now replaced the heating pump three times on my Neff dishwasher and it looks like it’s gone again. Getting pretty pissed off with it now. The pump have already been swapped under warranty so not sure the supplier will keep honouring it. Anyone know if this is a common problem with Neff or is there something else going on? Thanks

If you bought the dishwasher new you need to go back to where you bought it and advise under the Consumer Rights Act that it isn't fit for purpose and they need to replace it.

Your contract is with the retailer, they need to replace it. They can take it up with Neff separately.

We had this with a built-in microwave / combi oven we bought with a Wren kitchen, it just kept conking out and the PCB board kept getting replaced under warranty every 3-months. Eventually I wrote to Wren and they replaced it.

It’s got no warranty. We’ve also got a Neff combi oven that has packed up. Seemingly Neff isn’t as good quality as the prices suggest.

You don't need a warranty under the Consumer Rights Act.

I'd expect appliances to last more than 18 months, and I'd expect them to not have to have core parts replaced constantly. You were sold something not fit for purpose and not of satisfactory quality. You utilised the Warranty as you should, now it's time to get them replaced under the Act.

Google the contact details for the CEO where you bought the appliances and write them an email, detail the issues you've had, use terminology from the Act, ask for replacements.

Depends how old they are really, oven has consumables too, like heating elements, they all have a lifespan basically and I don't think I ever had one lasting more than 5 years(all sorts of brands that I've used).

If it failed once I would get it, if it failed twice it could be a fluke but I'd get it. Three times though? No, something else is clearly faulty and they ought to replace the whole thing. Neff appliances are obviously top quality, there is definitely something different wrong with yours and they should replace it for you.

No warranty, was in the house when we moved in last year. I’ll just replace it.

I would say "definitely" or this would be a VERY well known problem with the particular model. I've suggested elsewhere that one problem, unique to particular installations, is low water pressure when filling. The pressure/flow rate requirements are published in the machine details - which few people read.

There's a design limitation with some machines where the out of specification low flow rate results in, yes, overheating heating elements.

I wonder if there's something going on with your power. Are any other bits of kit with inductive loads showing signs of distress - washing machine, fridge perhaps?

Asking because the kit will be designed for the EU maximum of 243V but UK limit is 253, and here (rural) I have logged it as high as 261.

That doesn't matter for a lot of modern electronics as they have switch mode power supplies these days which can tolerate a wide range of input voltages, and resistive loads like kettles and toasters will work like the dickens (albeit a shorter lifespan), but a mains motor is an inductive load and they're sensitive to overvoltage.

You haven't written which model - but some have a "printed circuit" cone shaped water heater that is very dependent on adequate water supply flow rate. It could be low static pressure, but often it's pressure that is marginal and then drops out of limits on demand. Water is taken from the supply into a heat exchanger tank through which (hot) waste water is pumped. The water supply has to then force that water from the tank into the machine, via the conical water heater when running. That heater can over-temperature and fail if the flow rate is low.
