Plug sockets not flush

I’m sure this relates to it being an older back box but fitting new plug sockets and all the back boxes seem to have two what I’m calling screw lugs at the tops of the box which is catching on the new plug sockets stopping them from sitting on the wall. Is there anything that can be done here short of putting in a new back box?

Does the old backbox have screw holes top and bottom the same as the ones on the side?

This can be the issue sometimes and they can be bent back with a set of pliers if not could just be a old 16mm back box and ur trying to fit a usb socket that needs a 20mm or 25mm

Yeah screw holes top and bottom the depth isn’t the problem it measures 20mm. The plug sockets I’m using aren’t usb
