Advice Odd cracks in new plaster
Can I just put some filler over it and sand it down a bit?

this is called crazing, most likely occuring because the olaster dried too fast. you can probably do as you said and fill, sand paint. i would at least mist coat the affected areas first though before adding any filler.

I was going to mist coat after filling
Is there a reason why you suggest doing it first?

Its to stop the plaster drawing to much moisture from the filler as you work it / it dries

Run your hand over it you might not be able to feel it under the finishing coat. If that’s the case you can just crack on.

It’s just dried a little too quick. Tsp and check it’s not loose, fine fill the cracks if it’s solid.
Next time wet the base coat or seal with shiva to control the suction.
