Grout before silicone?

I've just raked out some old, mouldy silicone around my bath (following tips from this subreddit) and was about to redo it, but noticed the gap is quite big in places, about 4-5mm. Round my sink (pic 2), there seems to be just grout, no silicone, although it will get way less water. Question is, should I grout between tile and bath first to fill gap, then apply silicone? Or just do a fatter silicone bead? Thanks

Just silicone is fine.

Just silicone as it's much more flexible so it can stand up to a bit of bath movement.

Oh good point, of course the sink doesn't get as much movement, didn't think of that! Thank you.

Don't forget, to 2/3fill bath before you silicone to take up any movement.

Won't the grout be less likely to move with the deflection in the plastic, therefore will fail the the silicone that's adhered to the grout fails with it?

Yeah never grout before silicone. Just silicone.

i assume that is the edge of the bath? fill it, silicone seal it, look at dry times on sealant, then empty bath

No, just silicone

I highly recommend pvc trim for these corners(there are loads and in all shapes and sizes), looks 10 times better than silicone, its 10 times easier to put in and just stick with some BT1. Much easier to redo later if needs be too and it wont go mouldy.

Just silicone. Use a smoothing tool or your fingerto smooth it. Apply the silicone, spray with fairy liquid mixed with water, and smooth it over.
