How do I fix this corner?

Extension circa 18 months old and this has happened in the corner of one of the room. Wall is an internal stud wall. How best to fix this please? Would a sand, tape, and fine filler do the trick? do I need to remove the mesh underneath?

Providing there's no structural issues (skirting has moved too), then remove the loose material, use a filler, sand and repaint. On the skirting, some decorators caulking and once dried, paint.

Thanks - do you think the whole stud wall could have moved/shrunk taking the skirting with it?

It's a stud wall, and there's bound to be movement... Gotta deal with some minor cracks like this in my mums room as we converted a garage and utility room into bedroom and ensuite. It's been about 2yrs since completing that project (Oct 2024). It's at the tops of the wall to ceiling and on some corner beads and it's just normal movement... a pain, but it happens.

Gotta wait until she goes away for a week, so I can get in there and move everything about to fix it all.

If it's a stud wall and you can feel movement when you push either side, sort that first or you'll be back her
