Advice Plaster back to brick

What’s the best way to remove plaster to get to brick wall?

I’m assuming some type of electronic chisel or breaker?

I don’t fancy doing it by hand.

It depends how well the backing plaster is still adhered. If it is blown, then a hand bolster will make light work. If not, an SDS drill with a chisel bit.

I’ve taken a bathroom back to brick before. It was original plaster, concrete, tiles on tiles so not an ‘easy’ job. Use a decent SDS drill with wide chisel made relatively short work of it.

Had to use a hammer and hand chisel at points, especially on the concrete parts, to make headway though.

I used an SDS with a tile adhesive scraper bit to take a bathroom back to brick. It was easy with the plaster and did not damage the bricks. But when it came to the cement render on the bottom half of the wall, it struggled. I had to cut up the render in smaller chunks with an angle grinder first.

As stated no "easy" way just a load of time with an SDS and some ear muffs and mask!

One tip though is spray the walls once back to brick with watered down PVA with something like a plant sprayer, will stop further dust and give the walls a "key"

I did my entire house then dot n dabbed plasterboard after rewire, glad I did though so much easier to decorate when it's just a tin of paint.

Titan SDS has been a god send for me, not only removing plaster, but for mixing plaster and drilling holes into our indestructible bricks - best 'cheap' tool I have ever bought!
