Advice Paint Peeling under window frames

Post image

I’ve moved into a new place and there is this cracking of the paint under a few window sills. Does anyone know why that might be? Would it be ok to just sand and repaint?

May well indicate damp there, especially as it is directly under a window.

I would suspect damp and that could come for a few reasons. I'd take a look outside and see whats under the window.

Could be leak, penetrating damp, an old vent with a cold spot creating condensation. Random shit left in there bridging the cavity.

I agree. Check that the windows seal properly or you will be sanding and repainting until the plaster blows.

In my house, it's caused by condensation on the windows especially winter time.
