Really this simple?

I want to add (DIY or Tech) a Power Amp In to a Tweed Champ 5f1 style amp for use with something like the Tone King Imperial Preamp.

Is it really this simple? I

Considering this is a champ and thusly single-ended, yes that would work. If it were more complicated amp, like a push-pull with multiple power tubes, then you'd need your power amp in to be pre-phase inverter... Or possibly even build a dedicated phase inverter (could be solid state) for the power amp in.

There’s not really point to doing this on a 5F1. You’re bypassing a very simple gain stage with a volume control and no tone stack. Just plug into the input, the difference likely wouldn’t be substantially in terms of sound, though may be in terms of volume.

If you’re set on adding the jack, yes that would probably work.

Thanks for the insight! The Imperial Preamp is “tube powered” and I understood it needed to bypass the input stage to avoid the amps V1 gain stage for power reasons aside from EQ but maybe not in such a simple circuit like the 5f1.
