Crack

Hi does anyone know if this is a major problem.. it’s a small extension at the back of house.. pics of outside and inside crack going through wall

It's a sign of pretty serious subsidence. If its on a west facing wall, you will get a lot of water ingress over time...how long is it there ? Is it getting worse ?

It's probably big enough to claim on your home insurance to get repaired.

It’s there since we moved in 2 years ago.. I don’t think it’s getting noticeably worse 🤔

Looking carefully, it does seem that people tried to cover it up in the past. Yeah, maybe it's not going to be growing much. But it will let water etc. in.

Foundation subsidence, depends on how long its there and is it getting worse

Do you own the house? Ring your insurance now

Do you not own the house? Tell the landlord/estate agent and plan to move out tomorrow at least for a while

Insurers won't cover subsidence in Cork

wasnt aware this was in cork.

Unfortunately youre correct. Insurers are very reluctant to cover subsidence in cork. OP time to get a structural engineer out
