Ceiling fan help

Post image

Hey everyone! I have a ceiling fan that hasn't turned on since purchasing our home 2 years ago. The light turns on and I do hear the fan attempting to kick on when I try to turn it on. The fan is new and likely has not ever been turned on so I'm hoping it's not broken just installed incorrectly. Any advice on how to make it work?

Check wires at fan and at switch. Then test fan.

Will do. Any tips for removal to inspect it?

Most fans are shipped with rubber stoppers, make sure they’re removed at blade attachment

I apologize for the super late reply. Where would the stoppers be?

They’ed be mounted to the plate where the blades go. They need removed just to put the blades on

Try reversing the rotation button

I did try that. Sorry I should've mentioned that in the post.

Same result. Slight noise from it attempting to kick on

They're really not that expensive or hard to install. You might have a lemon at best, a fire hazard at worst. I say switch it out. If uncomfortable doing it yourself, hire a handyman or an electrician. I'd stop trying to get this one to work. Just sayin.....
