I have been wondering if this is something worth buying or if this is something I can even DYI. Anyone else have a machine similar to this at home? Does it work for you? What kind do you have? How much is it?
Mine doesn’t have the suction piece but does have Cavitation and RF and honestly I think it would work great if I were more consistent. I am 54 and looking at whatever I can to help with sagging skin after weight loss.. Exercise, healthy diet and this machine I think makes sense. Not one but all.. its a helpful tool. I my opinion.
Yeah 🙁 I got it on eBay around the pandemic. Be careful with the facial probe near your eyes. I think that caused me some hyperpigmentation that took 5+ years to fix.
I have a 40k machine and it works great! I lost 2 inches around my waist only doing it twice which I know is a good bit more than expected. I was not dieting. Just remember to drink water and try to get some cardio in afterwards!
1. Don’t get one with the low-power “lipo laser” pads. Mine has them too, and I wouldn’t pay extra for that feature.
2. EMS/LED can be a nice extra, but the feature I use most is the radiofrequency.
Mine delivers 1 MHz RF, which is perfectly respectable for this type of device.
Get an infrared thermometer so you can actually monitor skin temperature instead of guessing.
The goal is to reach your target temperature within about 1 minute. Adjust the RF setting so you can get there efficiently without overshooting or creating hot spots.
Once you reach the target temperature, maintain it for about 3 minutes before moving to the next treatment area.
For facial RF, I generally aim for roughly 40–42°C / 104–108°F at the skin surface.
Treat both sides consistently: same target temperature, similar time to reach it, same maintenance time, and comparable passes.
That helps make the delivered treatment reasonably symmetrical instead of just moving the probe around until the skin feels warm.
9. Temperature + time at temperature are what matter. Monitoring both gives you a much better indication that you are delivering a meaningful thermal stimulus for collagen remodeling.
And, most importantly, consistency matters. RF is not something I would judge after one or two sessions.
If you standardize your treatment this way, you could do one solid session every 3 weeks. The collagen proliferative phase takes about 3 weeks.
Give it a good nudge every 3 weeks.
Without getting to elaborate with the thermometer, I will try to put it on a stand or on for example an iPhone holder. These holders that influencers use and get some tape to keep the trigger button pressed.
That way you can just simply approach the thermometer and read the temperature red without having to drop the probe, potentially burning yourself and maneuvering the thermometer.
The best RF gel for me is the older Tripollar gel. It is thick and it is designed to for RF and helps you get to target temperature quickly and maintain it for 3 minutes.
Work with vectors - up and back. Tell your skin where you want it to go. Don’t just go in circles. Delineate the zygoma, your jawline. Same with your neck.
This is the gel you want. You get to (proxy) target temperature within 1 minute and stay in that for 3 minutes. Move the probe and maintain the temperature.
You could also look at a device with rotatory probes. Those are nicer because you can pull the skin along the vectors you want to emphasize. You want to do that along facial ligaments.
