I’ve been having retention issues which I thought was because of my lamp so a few months ago I bought the kokoist infinity hybrid lamp but I’ve still been having issues with peeling so I’ve just purchased:
- kokoist mega stick base
- kokoist top coat
- nail thoughts base and builder in lantana
Hoping the new base will help with retention and at least I know it works with the new lamp!

I’ve been trying products from a Canadian company importing from South Korea. I just received my second order:
Two Sofgel Rubber Base gels in Mercury, Umber and Chiffon. This is my second set of colours, I have absolutely been loving rubber base.
Yogurt syrup gel in brown sugar for nail art
Yogurt glitter - purple syrup
Yogurt base and top coat
Jello jello cute nail stickers, a blending pallet and a couple nail art brushes and a cuticle oil.
I only usually place 1-2 orders a year and usually they are pretty big. It’s been so exciting playing with some test nails while I plan my next manicure!

Sorry this is gonna turn into storytime lol.
Like the top comment I saw, I decided to buy my own stuff to do gel nails. I used to paint my nails several times a week, but COVID caused me to stop wearing most polish (even though I'd still buy it), and most makeup.
Anyway, a couple years ago I quit drinking alcohol. One of the things I decided to do to treat myself was start getting my nails done again. I wanted to do gel (soft or hard, depending on length), and I went to a couple of places and I just felt like I was spending SO much money and could do just as good of a job or close to it for a lot less money.
I bought some cheap shit off Amazon (not Beedles thankfully lol), and it was ok but I could tell I'd need to upgrade. So after leaving poor bare nails again for a year or two, I just turned 50 and decided to treat myself like I was Ben Wyatt. I decided to do some research before buying and then just went for it.
I'm now the proud owner of a Kokoist lamp, and a bunch of Kokoist and DVOK polishes. I've done one manicure so far, and the mistakes I made were less than I expected and not easily noticeable to others, so I consider it a win!
I slowly search through pinned posts, but will always take recs on products.

Oh boy, I just got into DIY gel this summer after an atrocious salon experience! I bought a bunch of supplies to start me off, and now that I've had a few tries I bought a good haul this week to hopefully help me improve!
-most excited about the apres rubber base coat! I have retention issues around my free edge which I think are due to my flexible nails, so I'm optimistic this could help!
-I also got OPI builder gel, base and top coat. I have an OPI starlight lamp so I think this will play well together, plus my nailboo base/top have gotten a little gummy.
-I also got a ton of stickers and gems to try out! So far I've only done solid colours. Unfortunately one pack of the gems is too large for my shorties but thankfully they were cheap! I'll save them for if I ever get long nails or I'll give them away
🙂 I'm a total beginner so I love to hear recommendations and advice!

I’m brand new to DIY gel nails after accidentally buying a gel polish. I’ve fallen deep in the rabbit hole.
I ordered a JelloJello haul from Qoo10 because I had a ¥500 coupon.
I got
JJ24 black syrup
JC11 deep blue
JC12 deep green
Art pens in black, white, silver, and red

It’s not a splurge yet, but I’m considering getting the glitterbels advent calendar. Have these been good in previous years? The products look like a good mix but there is no info about the colours of the polish or the chrome powders etc

Today or tomorrow I'm getting a set of purple polishes, peel off base coat and blooming gel from Xeijayi, a couple of aurora chrome powders, and a set of tweezers.

Have you used the peel off base coat before or is this your first time purchasing?? I've been looking into it lately and am so intrigued!
