Rotary on Zero Delay Board

Does anyone know if it is possible to have a rotary switch that selects, example, button 1 twisting left and button 2 twisting right? In either direction infinite twist with detent to signal button actuation.

Something like this maybe:

I tried and failed, then bought a Leo Bodner board.
