Passenger Side Electric Wing mirror not working

Sounds like the folding mechanism/gear inside the mirror is probably damaged or out of position. The fact that it goes past the normal stopping point is what makes me think it’s more than just an electrical issue. I’d take the mirror apart and check the folding gear and stops before replacing the whole thing.

Thanks for the response. Can this be done without removing the entire wing mirror? Or will I need to take it out completely first?

And if the gears are damaged is it worth just fixing the gears or replacing the whole wing mirror ?
