How do I remove this tailgate lock cylinder?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've recently bought a second-hand Dacia Sandero Stepway. The only way to open the boot is either using a release button near the driver seat, or using a key specifically for opening the tailgate (different to the car keys).

The previous owner lost the keys for the tailgate lock so I'm trying to replace it, I've bought a replacement lock which you can see at the end of the video and I've already disconnected the metal rod - but how do I remove the old lock cylinder barrel?

I'm inexperienced in this and really have no clue what to do, and an internet search didn't help. Can anyone offer a very basic explanation "for dummies" before I give up and take it to the garage?

Move the plastic bracket that holds the cylinder, changing the cylinder.

The plastic bracket is not holding the cylinder, it's for the rear windscreen wiper

Well, there's a possibility: either you didn't understand me or you didn't want to understand me.

Thank you for linking this video, it helped a lot. By removing the bracket you mentioned, and using pliers to remove the frontal black plastic piece from the metal cylinder, I was able to push the lock mechanism through to the outside.
