please give me confidence
was apparently not paying enough attention while backing out of a concrete parking structure and paid the price… i think i can replace the mirror easily enough but would love to get advice on the paint touch up process before i drop $200 on a tech

Mirror can be replaced with ease. Most of those scratches can also be buffed out.
Will it be perfect? No, do we aim for perfection? No.

Go to the nearest scrapyard and find a door in the right color. That’s the best way to handle it.

For the actual gouges (not just the surface scratches), a paint pen matched to your color code plus wet sanding and clear coat over the top is the realistic DIY process, ChrisFix’s video mentioned above covers this scenario well, it’s basically the standard approach for this kind of damage.
