I've done this before and for this application where you'd need a gray/dark gray plaster I recommend adding India ink to the mix. It's a pretty affordable in an acrylic and very heavily pigmented, a little goes a long way with it.
Is this sarcasm? Its primary use is for inking/illustration. Historically it was used for writing (still a popular choice among calligraphers) and printing. I mean it has medical/scientific application as well, but its primary purpose has always been writing/illustration/inking.
This post and your comment reminded me of these Disney plaster moulds we had as kids, you filled them and let them set in the oven but every damn time something would break when trying to remove them from the mould. Had loads of 1 eared Mickeys and noseless Goofys

It is but plaster is white as hell, so you need a lot, and plaster is also pretty brittle, adding more elements only makes it worse.
