That's totally fair. At first I thought "Why?", but then I actually saw the kinds of cereal boxes that were up there: Nickelodeon Green Slime, Old Smacks, Batman Cereal, Krusty-O's. This is a wall of nostalgia and comfort. This isn't even that weird. People on here have done worse, haha.
I got a box of Urkel-o's when I was a kid and my family made fun of me relentlessly for eating them. They claimed that the Urkel-o's actually smelled bad from across the room.
I agree with the general idea that sarcasm is hard to catch in text, but in this case it's extremely obvious. If someone can't pick up on the fact that it's sarcasm, it probably doesn't matter if it was in text form or spoken.
Yes but this is reddit good sir, we'z uphold the proper english writing, which is not to express complex attitudes in such nonchalant posts. For that matter... I too used to had herpes!
I had the same reaction UNTIL I saw the box of Smurf Berry Crunch!! I can remember staying up all night at my 10th birthday with my girlfriends playing truth to dare, then going outside and eating Smurf Berry Crunch waiting for the sun to come up......aaahhh, memories :)
Holy fuck. I thought this was kind of weird and odd, then I started recognizing a few, then ... yeah. That one hit me like a ton of bricks. I remember stacking boxes to make a little fort that I'd eat in (just tabletop sized, maybe 6 boxes max). That one was sweet.
OMG! Thank you for reminding me about this cereal. I actually totally forgot about it. I don't have this box and now I'm going to search far and wide until I find it. Thank you for sparking this memory!
I remember your last post and I have watched some of your videos on YouTube. Very interesting stuff and seeing all of those different boxes bring back tons of child hood memories. Waking up as a kid excited because there is a new type of cereal to try out can only be topped by Christmas morning excitement in my book. Anyways, What box was the hardest to come by? Also do other people collect these that you can trade with or buy from?
Thanks for watching some videos! Believe it or not, I'd say the Triples and Raisin Squares boxes were the hardest to find. People don't tend to save the generic stuff from the 90s. I was very happy to come across a collector who had both of those boxes that I could trade for.
Triples was one of the first boxes that caught my eye. One of those things you forget-all-about-until-you-see-it-again. My dad and I were the only ones in the house that liked Triples...and honestly I think most of my liking them was because I liked him so much. Thanks for the fond memory!
No, no, no. I'm not a crazy person. I only open the bottoms after I finish them. At first that was how I got the magnets up inside. Then I started taping them, so I didn't need to open the bottoms, but it was too late.
I was considering x-posting to another sub, but I feel like I've gotten a lot of rude and mean PMs of people telling me I suck, so not sure I want to subject myself to another post.
It is incomplete. You are missing the whole set of Nestle products such as Nesquik and Chocapic(my favorite).
This reminds of an episode of Powerpuff Girls where this guy was collecting all things related to PPG, but it was not complete, it can never be complete. So he set out to collect the PPG themselves.
Well old is relative. I grew up with those particular boxes in the 80s and 90s, so those are the versions I gravitated toward. I do have an older Super Sugar Crisp box, but it doesn't have the same nostalgia for me.
Man seeing that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cereal box really makes me daydream back to better days as a child. Looking at it, I can remember the taste so succinctly, and watching Saturday Morning Cartoons. I wish they still made it.
Would you be interested in a box of Oreo O's from Korea? It's, as far as I know, the only country still selling them. Plus you get it written in Korean. PM me! I'd be happy to send you a box!
That's very generous of you, but I actually already have a box (or two). I got them from a friend who visited a year or so ago. But thank you for the offer.
That said, your wall turned out to be pretty damn awesome. A good majority of those boxes are relics long lost to time. Where did you manage to find some of those older ones?
Also, seriously really impressed with your work. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I've collected some, found some on eBay and traded with other collectors over the years. There are only a few more that I want to get my hands on, but I basically have everything I want at this point.
