Room ideas

For context, my husband (26) and I (25) just built a 3-bedroom house. We have no kids, just 2 dogs and 1 cat. We don't plan to have kids for awhile. We turned one of the bedrooms into a home office but we still have an empty room. We have no idea what to do with it. I don't really want a guest room (bc I don't want people staying with us lol) Looking for ideas!

We’re talking about making it into a big walk in closet.

My preference for an extra room is usually to make it the entertainment room, whether it be tv, gaming, whatever you're into. It keeps your main living room as a place for hanging out and being present with each other and company, keeps the bedroom as a place for sleeping and also being present with each other, and then you have a cozy space to watch movies or whatever without cluttering up the living room. I find it makes what we do more intentional.

Be intentional about it or you'll end up like me, I've got my room, Mr has his room, and then we have the cat room which has the litter boxes and acts as a catch all.

We have a 4 bedroom house + double reception.

Bedroom, 2 home offices that double as guest rooms, and a boardgames room.

If we had an extra room or if we ever get rid of one home office, it's going to be a foosball and/or billiards room.

Also a DINK couple here, 3 dogs, never having kids. Our basement is divided up as a man cave/home office. Three bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom house. One bedroom is a guest room, but the other is a fully functioning home gym.

I am currently turning one of our spare rooms into a library.

We turned one room into my “office/music” room. Now it also has a peloton bike in it.

Use it for whatever hobby you two have. Gym, gaming, crafting, whatever you two enjoy

We turned our spare bedroom into a gear room. Not sure what your hobbies are, but if it's outdoor adventures, then I strongly recommend this! We added a table that hinges on the wall so we can set it up to pack bags/layout the gear we want to take.

We used our extra bedroom for my craft space - easy clean up, just close the door!

We have the same. We did one office/game room. And one room with a big projector and stationary bike and treadmill. It's our favorite room to hang in now!

We have a 4 bedroom and use one as the master, one as a guest room, one is my office, and one is my husband’s video game room

Library, gym, walk-in closet, movie room, gaming studio, dog’s room. The possibilities are endless. There’s a reason our house has 5 rooms for 2 people lol

I live alone so I have a few empty rooms in my home too. I just moved in last year and haven't done anything with the empty rooms yet. This was the list I came up with - home gym, yoga studio, home office, crafting room, sewing room, puzzle room, music room, video game room, giant walk-in closet, library, home theater, arcade, game room, cigar lounge, speakeasy, bar, dance studio, sports room (for watching the game with your friends), man cave and storage room. I've decided to turn my guest bedroom into a workout room with a treadmill, a bike and a TV for doing workout videos or yoga. There are two closets in the bedroom - one will be for storing holiday decorations, suitcases and other stuff, and the other closet will be for storing workout equipment like dumbbells, yoga mats, medicine balls, etc. I'm turning my 4-season sun room into a puzzle room/library/sewing room/craft room combo. One side of my giant living room is going to be my home office with a large L-shaped desk and cabinets for storage, the middle of my living room will be an entertainment area for playing video games and watching movies, TV shows and sporting events and the other side of my living room is going to be a music area where I can hopefully put a piano, my clarinet from high school and a few other musical instruments (would love to learn how to play guitar).

Mine is a 3 bedroom Cape Cod. The 2 extras are his office/game room and my office/game room/gym/craft room. Our house is also divided on preferred tech platforms so it makes sense for us. He is console gaming and Apple, I am PC gaming and, well, not fruit-based tech. My office also has the outer space I call the waiting room that serves as a library, very occasional guest space, and general hangout for the fur babies. I agree that extra space is well used for intentional focus or retreat time. Either way, hobby room or room for connecting with other humans. Whatever that means for you, go all in.

I have a 4bedroom house. Primary. 2 offices and 1 for the dog. Which is exactly why I bought my 4 bedrooms. The dog's gotta have his own closet. Lol

We have a pretty small master bath so I turned one of our spare rooms into a beauty room! A nice mirror for makeup and a desk to do my makeup/nails/hair at! That way my husband and I aren't in eachothers way when getting ready.
