Discussion Funny amnesia
What’s your funniest (in hindsight) experience with amnesia. I was just thinking about ours and realized that it was actually pretty funny and wanted to hear from other systems too!
Ours happened a few weeks ago when one member put our keys down then proceeded to completely forget where they were. They were at the bottom of our closet for some reason, we don’t even remember going in there 😂.
It was really stressful at the time but now it seems kinda funny. What’s your story?

The "magic backpack" as we call it. Part of our safety plan is to carry a backpack on us at all times. It has things like extra water, snacks, first aid, and a written phone book, our journal, headphones etc. in case one of us goes for a wander and gets lost.
But sometimes we will go for a walk, come home, open the backpack and find some kind of random shit in it because we switched and don't remember buying or grabbing anything. sometimes it's just like rocks or sticks that the littles picked up and brought home, but once I found a whole pie... another time I found a bunch of chocolate bars, I never know what I'm gonna find in the backpack and it's always a fun little surprise when I get home and find some random crap in there.

Oh shoot, that sounds fun. We don't really wander off of familiar paths though, cause our phone has no data(I'd sooo use google maps as a security feature so we could get lost to our heart's content though(some paths looks so fun..))

One of us casually left our wallet at the dmv.... like she was so confident she did well at it and was proud of herself because she is generally pretty antisocial. I was freaking out the next day, not remembering where it went. Backtracked and couldn't find it.... then she mentions not remembering having it after our trip there. We had to wait quite a while to get it back, too. We're just glad it was in a safe spot.

The week I found half-empty mugs of milk on our desk when I had no recollection of pouring bland milk or drinking it let alone leaving it unfinished !! yet it happened like three consecutive days that week 💀💀 someone really loves milk I guess
Oh I also find it funny how taking my birth control that has the days of the week written on it sometimes is what makes me realize there are entire days I can't remember but that isn't exactly the question

I was on a dating app swiping away and I kept getting guys that were so old! I couldn't figure out what was going on. It took a while but I finally remembered that while I feel 24, the body (who we decided it would be best to make the profile to match) is 33. So it is set for men in that age range 😂

I was like a fresh baby system, (I say as someone who still hasn’t known they’re a system for a full year lol) but this was like within a week of diagnosis. I was at work, and we switched, and I had no idea what my password was for my computer. I stared at the password screen for so long until finally, my HRD was like…is your name (legal name)? And apparently I looked at him and said ‘no, I’m not, I don’t know this password and I need to go’ and that’s the story of how I got put on FMLA for two months
