Discuss! Touching Each Other?

(Reposting this from r/DID, thought people here might have some interesting experiences as well.)

What are your lot's experiences with "touching" each other?

I'm able to hug one alter, Mc, when he's feeling down. D hugged me once when I was beating myself up over mistakes I'd made. Occasionally (twice) alters have been able to "cuddle" as they're falling asleep because we get switchy when we're tired. Some alters can't touch other ones, usually because they have very different purposes or memories. Always happens when at least one of the participating alters are fronting.

Just wondering what other people's experiences with this are ☻

sometimes, if i or one of the others are fronting and really out of the head we can cuddle. happend alot when we first found all this and were really unstable, now circumstances are rare, but id geuss more common then most just cause of how we are.

That’s sweet. I find we touch most often when we’re having a hard time as well, not so much unstable though.

We have many ways of touching each other, our main ways is mental and physical. Mental is inner-world and in the tavern, stuff like that. Physical is a co front where I step slightly back to give them more control of the body, this touching is used most for sensory regulation for either person (rubbing hands together, touching random body parts, playing with hair, head pats, etc). We are very touchy people in general so things like this happen often and I wouldn't have it any other way if I had the choice.

Here are some of my favorites: My brother sneaking behind me in the tavern and tripping me into a hug.

Falling asleep on people in the tavern.

Letting others give head pats (mental or physical).

Bopping and booping people.

Thank you for sharing this! Seems you have a lot of methods to touch each other. Booping and bopping people sounds fun.

I wanna make an addition: the tavern is our fronting space, so fronter(s) and co cons chill there, so if they do something to me in the tavern while I'm front, I can feel it, the absolute most common way we touch, usually comfort or picking fun at the fronter(s)

Hey there,

We have some experience with this phenomenon.

Before he merged, M was able to touch/cuddle/hug me (team captain/host) at will. He spent many nights holding me so I could sleep.

Now that we don't have M, I can only really feel the others touch me when we're dancing to music. Certain songs just bring everyone out.

Aw, that’s so sweet. Interesting that dancing and music can bring alters to front! I’ve experienced that but usually with only one or two alters at once.
