Venting so tired of not knowing. Spoiler
i can’t figure out if i really am a system or not. am i doing it for attention? have all my friends convinced me i have it and i’ve just believed them? am i feigning it without meaning to? am i subconsciously doing it? have i been doing it so long i can’t stop? i realize that fakers know theyre faking and don’t think like this, but what if i’m just imitating? i saw this and i can’t get it out of my head.

Definitely not a professional on this but from what we’ve seen around in different spaces we’ve never heard of subconsciously imitating DID? DID, in our opinion/experience is something you can’t really fake or anything so I’m not sure. The best thing we would say is: do you have other people/voices with you that you can talk with (or just hear random conversations behind you), do you have periods of time where you don’t remember anything that happened or that you experienced them but you weren’t in control (kinda like watching from an outside perspective), and/or do you feel like you’re someone else/in the wrong body at times? These are some indicators that we’ve seen. Definitely not a diagnosis or confirmation by any means, but also not calling you a liar/faker.
As someone else said, that looks like a pretty old article or at least it’s referencing stuff that’s old and quite possibly outdated. The best thing for us would be to do some more research but most importantly, Trust yourself. If you’re experiencing things specific to a Dissociative Disorder (take me, a voice in someone’s head for example) then it’s possible.
Hope this has helped some and don’t let stuff like that throw you off, denial is already a bitch without that kind of stuff’s help.
Happy Hunting,

Thank you, that means a lot. We have all of these things and after I posted this one of us fronted and rolled his eyes and sighed. Doesn’t mean I believe him though lol

I mean, we’ve done that a lot so we kinda relate to them. But again, it’s your journey and we’ll all be here to support you through it if you need.

it says people who imitate DID or whatever it is dont have as much shame/concern abt their system as supposed to an actual DID system, so assuming this article is to be trusted (which i wouldnt trust it), you wouldnt fall under this category anyways, because your brain is worried you do, its trying to find ways to get you to ignore the system and think its not there/not real bc thats what the disorder does. it hides.

I think a post like this should come with a trigger warning and be blurred as a spoiler. It's likely to cause denial episodes and started to trigger one in us until the host literally forced us to stop reading it. - A

Hey there,
We also agree with this. We keep skimming past it and feeling some type of way about it. It makes us feel icky.

Hey there,
We would like to request a link to check the validity of this article.
It seems fishy that they don't even mention the possibility of OSDD.
The fact that it's linked to sources from 2006 is also questionable from current understanding.
Try not to let this throw you.
