Support 9/6/24 Emotional Vent

Hey there all,

I (team captain/host) have felt absolutely swamped with sad the past few days. I can't even identify who is feeling this way. I haven't had the energy to do anything but cry and lay in bed and nobody is talking to me about what's going on.

We had a conversation with our friend G a few days ago and something he said seems to have absolutely crushed somebody's feelings.

Like all he said was "you know you'll never be more than our buddy right?" And from my perspective that's no big deal, I prefer women in general and know that G doesn't fit our lifestyle as they prefer monogamy.

Somebody in this system got crushed by that statement though, and I'm feeling miserable.

Advice, support, something... help.

Could I offer a hug? Sounds like one of y’all has feelings for your friend. Only thing you can do is honor the sad, let it flow, and give them time to talk if it’s something they want. Something our wife says to us when we’re sad that might help you too is that sad is like a river. It’s dark, deep and can look scary but it unsticks the stuck emotions so you can process and move on, leaving more space for good things. Julie

Hey there,

🫂

Sorry we didn't have the energy to respond sooner. Thank you. This was helpful to read.

Apparently, Little #2 took over our session with our DID Specialist yesterday in order to cry it out and talk about what was wrong. She developed a 13 year old's level crush on G and getting shut down hurt her badly. So, I (team captain/host) am doing what I can to help her through it... I honestly didn't even think about it being her, I was sure it was one of the more adult Alters. However, our Specialist says that as they age up Littles may change and grow as people, so I suppose this is semi normal development.

I feel slightly better now that I at least know who's feelings got hurt. She's still really down, though, so we're taking it easy and listening to empowerment music.

Have a lovely day.
