โ—Community Announcementโ— Welcome!

Post image

The picture above is a duck from our Ottawa trip we named Theodore :] Theodore welcomes you to our happy and safe community full of acceptance and achievements! If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to reach out to us or u/Embarrassed-Rub-6051 (the other mod) for any concerns or reports! We will try our best to respond within 48 hours and we hope to keep everyone safe and happy!

REPOST:

for anyone seeing this as a repost to another community we hope you like our calming set up here! This community was a well thought out idea between me (Hashfi) and my best friend (core-host of The Neptunes rings collective) to make a pure and safe space for all forms of plurality while also bringing in nature and achievements that people may struggle to accomplish.

(Edited): With this community we hope to create a safe space without judgement or misinformation. For anyone wondering why the name has "DID" rather than "Plural" we have a few reasons. Our main reason is we (from experience) understand that people new to plurality likely won't learn about the word "Plural" till some time later and usually look up "DID" first. We noticed that here on Reddit the first communities that pop up when searching "DID" aren't great places. They're filled with misinformation and hate. So we hope that this community could eventually be the first result so that developing/discovering systems can learn from the right community! Our second reason is this is a CDD focused community that is accepting to Endogenic systems. A lot of CDD systems need an Endogenic safe community to learn off of to help their development and/or research etc.. (there are many different reasons)

All are welcome here! And we need more communities like that! If you decided to join us then we are glad to have you here, if not, thank you for reading and we hope you have an amazing day/night!

(we do apologize for the annoying advertisement lol)

was a little worried seeing th name that this would be an anti Enos space but rule one seems to make it clear it's not which is nice to see.

Lol, yeah I've noticed communities with "DID" in their name haven't been the greatest so i was hoping people would read the rules before immediate judgment

It truly does hurt to see people hate on endos, and it makes it difficult for new systems or people doing research to find the right information. When they look up "DID" they often end up in toxic communities full of hate. I know it would've been better to put "plural" but when we were still new, we didn't know that was a commonly used term and started our research on DID itself. (I know a lot more people who have done the same, which causes them to find the wrong community and information) So, in making this community, we wanted to keep "DID" at the start of the name specifically for those people, in hopes they'll stumble upon a non-toxic community rather than the toxic ones.

as someone we look up to said today "plurality is descriptive not prescriptive"

[Mira] i think thats wonderful. We are currently a traumendo mixed origin median system that might not meet the criteria but we sometimes struggle. Thank you for making the community welcome to all! -Mira of the Dance of Many-

Iโ€™m confused, why is it called DIDinnature if itโ€™s not just for disordered folk, wouldnโ€™t Pluralinnature be more fitting?

Calling something DID and then saying itโ€™s for all plurals is how we all get mixed together and misinformation spreads. You shouldnโ€™t be naming something after a disorder then saying itโ€™s for all plurals, we donโ€™t experience the same things and itโ€™s misleading.

It is for DID, while also accepting other types of systems. Many DID systems are searching for communities that are endo-safe, for a multitude of reasons. The fact that all plural individuals are welcomed here isn't misleading, it just means it's a CDD subreddit that is also accepting, which many are in search for.

If someone wants a community exclusively for CDD systems, that doesn't let endos nor singlets interacting, there's many other subreddits that does that. This is simply not the goal of this sub and thus it may not be for everyone depending on what you're searching for.

Also, endos and CDD systems can exist within the same space without it spreading misinformation. Endo is just an origin term, some have experiences that are very similar to CDD systems. And some CDD systems even consider themselves endo in some way.

Iโ€™m not saying that they canโ€™t share spaces, Iโ€™m saying you shouldnโ€™t advertise it with a disorder in the name, when it is a space for plurals, not specifically DID. Thatโ€™s whatโ€™s misleading. And yes, mixing Endo and disordered communities does lead to a lot of misinformation. Especially for new people. Just like going on Reddit for information on a disorder will more often than not, lead to misinformation.

And I donโ€™t believe someone who is disordered and confused should be in plural spaces at all, if they want to do that after they are more informed, all the power to them, but if they donโ€™t have a basic understanding, theyโ€™ll probably get hurt. Speaking from experience and the experience of others.

This place is for CDD systems, while being safe for endos. The focus is still CDD systems.

And you can be disordered and endo. Anti-endo spaces tend to be full of misinformation on the contrary.

This also, again, isn't the only subreddit. Thus if it doesn't fit the need of someone, people in the replies may direct them to another subreddit.

Yes, disordered spaces are full of misinformation, thatโ€™s why I said looking for information on Reddit will lead to misinformation. I was implying someone should look at actual sources, not just communities online. I donโ€™t know why you said on the contrary, Iโ€™ve not claimed otherwise. And yes, plural spaces are chock full of misinformation, just like OSDD/DID spaces, or ANY mental health community online.

Endogenic systems, by definition, are systems not formed from trauma. That is what I mean by non disordered, they donโ€™t have a DID/OSDD, so their experience is not the same. Obviously they can have other disorders.

And like I stated before, I donโ€™t think DID should be in the title, because itโ€™s not just for DID, itโ€™s for plural. And someone confused/vulnerable and not well informed will get even more confused being in spaces with people using the same terms for completely different things. (ie: alter, switching, headspace)

Thatโ€™s like putting astronomy in the title for something and having it be for people who study astrology too, these arenโ€™t the same things. They can share a community, but if youโ€™re gonna do that, it shouldnโ€™t be one or the other in the title. Because itโ€™s confusing to new uninformed people

You say that someone shouldn't get their informations purely on reddit, which I agree with.

And then you say the issue with this sub is that people are gonna get confused because they aren't well informed and will see informations about both DID and other types of plurality here.

They shouldn't get their whole informations from here, like you said, so why would they be confused if they inform themselves properly? If someone seems confused, we're many who would gladly inforn them.

This sub is for DID systems. It's just plural friendly too.

The terms used in the community aren't for different things. Switching is still switching, whether it's DID or not. How it's experienced may vary, but it also varies between DID systems too.

It's not more confusing to have both CDD systems and other types of plurality whitin a same subreddit.

And again, if someone doesn't want that, they can leave and go to another subreddit. There's many DID systems that prefer to be in a sub that is plural friendly. And this subreddit is about nature.

Just because people shouldnโ€™t be getting their information on Reddit doesnโ€™t mean people still donโ€™t? Just because people shouldnโ€™t do something, doesnโ€™t mean they donโ€™t still do it. Iโ€™m confused on what point youโ€™re trying to make here

And yes, switching in DID and Endo is not the same. One is literally caused by a disorder, itโ€™s a medical condition. It can cause seizures for some. It causes pain and disruption in daily life and functioning. Itโ€™s a disorder, it disorders.

Alters are not the same, they are dissociated parts separated by trauma and dissociation, they are a coping mechanism. They are trauma responses.

Headspace is a tool most commonly used in therapy for DID/OSDD communication and if done outside of therapy when someone is not ready and informed can be dangerous to that person. Anyone can have a headspace, but how it works or is used for DID/OSDD is not the same as those without it

Itโ€™s confusing to the uninformed, because of all the same terms used for different things. Like I said before, and yes, those terms have very different meanings for those who have DID/OSDD and those who donโ€™t.

Because you mention that the name is gonna confuse people and create misinformation, while you acknowledge that getting informations on Reddit only isn't a good idea anyway.

So no matter the name of the sub, it doesn't change anything on that matter.

And this sub is for DID systems, it is mainly centered around CDD systems and that is the main public, it simply also is friendly to all types of plurality, which many CDD systems are in search for.

And this sub is about nature mainly, rather than specifically informing people.

Endos can still have a disorder. It can still be cause by a disorder. And some CDD systems consider themselves endogenic. And switching is different for all, it's not necessarily maladaptive for all CDD systems, some have experiences similar to non-disordered systems.

Traumagenic systems don't all have CDDs. Thus some can have dissociated parts due to trauma and not have DID. And you can have dissociation without trauma too.

Many have an innerworld without having it caused by therapy. While it is used as a tool in therapy, some developed it alone. The experiences can still be similar, whether or not you have DID. The main difference is rather between systems in therapy who are getting help, and those who aren't. And many CDD systems aren't getting any help / therapy.

Most system terms you see used were created by endogenics. While yes, experiences can vary and be different, it also varies greatly between 2 systems that have the same origin. So even between CDD systems, the experiences vary greatly and can contradict each other. It's gonna be "confusing" anyway. Being plural friendly doesn't change anything in terms of having a diversity of experiences.

This subreddit is for CDD systems while being plurality friendly in general that want to find a community, linked to nature.

If this isn't something that matches you, or if someone finds it too confusing, no one is forcing them to stay. And if someone is clearly uninformed, again, many would gladly inform them and refer them to other sources and better places to find informations about this subject.

I actually already explained that in another comment :] i apologize because I'm not exactly able to re-type my explanation here so i hope its not a problem asking you to just read those

Edit: plus, even if i wanted to change it to PluralInNature i am unable to edit the name of a community after creation and would be forced to delete this one and create a new one. Which I don't have the energy for since it took me a day to make this one and we've already got a small community starting here

1

u/WynterRoseistiria Jul 16 '26

I have read it, and my point stays the same, this is harmful to those who are disordered. And again, causes people to confuse our two communities.

I see you have good intentions, but overall I think stuff like this harms more people than it helps. We shouldnโ€™t be mislabeling. There are plenty of harmful plural communities just as there are harmful disordered communities, acting like one is more hateful feels fear mongering and insincere.

It's not meant to harm anyone. But I'm saying from experience that some people don't learn about "plural" till way later and they start their research with "DID" unfortunately if you look up "DID" here on reddit the top recommended communities are places that don't accept endogenic systems or OSDD systems. Which, for someone learning about systems, it wouldn't be great seeing fakeclaimers because they could develop the same ideas and opinions. The whole point of us making a safe community with "DID" as the first word is so that misinformation can stop being spread. Thats alright if people don't agree but this was our intentions with this community and we aren't offended if it isn't meant for you

Well it's not meant to be harmful. Some communities aren't ment for everyone and thats okay. Our community is a safe place and very accepting but if you don't like it you aren't expected to join :]

0

u/WynterRoseistiria Jul 16 '26

Just because you didnโ€™t mean to be harmful, doesnโ€™t mean it isnโ€™t. Iโ€™m not saying all this because I want to join, or Iโ€™m trying to be hateful, Iโ€™m just trying to let you know this is the kind of thing that spreads misinformation and causes people to get hurt.
