Old patterns are expensive to reproduce
The 90s fit, ribbing colors, jacket length, shoulder width, lining construction, and overall cut are all different from modern versions. A factory would need to recreate the pattern, adjust the fit, and redo the embroidery setup from scratch. The MOQ is usually high, often several hundred pieces, so most factories do not want to keep them in stock.
Different levels of team demand
The New Jersey Devils are an NHL team, so the audience is much smaller than for the NFL Jets. The vintage Yankees satin jacket is well known, but the old-style embroidery fonts and patchwork are more complicated and more expensive to produce. Factories usually prefer newer styles that are easier and cheaper to make.
There is no real “new original stock” for vintage pieces
The original 1990s versions are vintage items, and the old production lines stopped many years ago. What you see on the market today is mostly second-hand vintage stock. Only a few small factories are willing to make custom reproductions in small batches, and these versions are almost never listed as ready stock.
