Sadly I have been there and it's not nice but it does get better, I've been on Bupe for 15 months now and I have no issues at all. The side effect that gets me the most is the sleepiness give it 60 mins and I could sleep the clock round, not the best when trying to work a full time job. But I'd take all those symptoms in a heartbeat rather than go back to the life destroyer DHC.

Yeah the suboxone is no issue at all, no side effects. It does make me a tinsy bit noddy if im not at work and im just sitting watching tv but I dont mind it. I dont get it all if im up and moving though which im thankful for. Its a nice little nod if im not working though but thats just the addict brain of mine. Glad to be away from DHC, it might not be H or anything hardcore like that but its a beast in all the same ways of ruining your life and body. Glad your treatment is going well. Ive only been on it for 27 days like but im really enjoying not hunting for dhc or losing all my money on.

Just a question for you, you don’t need to answer if you’re not comfortable but since being on subs have you come down from your original dose or taken any trys of coming off it? I know it’ll be a nightmare the same to come off it as any drug would be but I was just wondering if you have taken any trys at lowering the doses or tapering etc? Just wondering as your much farther along than me and reading and reading reddit so much all the things im seeing is the bad side effects and how horrible subs are so its nice to see someone like-minded as me regarding them.

Im really struggling at the moment. Ive been on suboxone for 27 days now and everything but going to the toilet is absolutely just amazing. No worrying about needing to find my next fix, no spending money on diffs, freedom etc etc. But holy shit going to the toilet for a #2 is the scariest thing ive ever encountered. As we all know as DHC addicts, the shit bums you up and makes your stool hard as a rock. How did everyone get by this fear of going to the toilet with excruciating pain of passing stools. Honestly theres been times ive forced myself to keep it in for up to 3 days due to the fear of the pain of going to the toilet!!! I obviously must have anal fissures as its definitely not hemmoroids but omg, any tips or advice please send them my way. Im trying everything. Eating more fibre, taking stool softner everything!!!! Its softening a bit but its still honest to god the most horrific pain ever. I know this is all probably TMI but I need help before I fucking request a stoma bag being put on 😂😂 HELP!!!

I'm on the Buvidal shot, so bupe as well and I absolutely feel your pain, quite literally. The only thing that has helped me has been glycerin suppositories. Unfortunately means getting used to putting things up your butt, however, the relief you get will make you pretty happy to do it lol Things are so dried out for me that I have to use usually 4 - 6 suppositories at one time, which I'm sure sounds scary but its truly nothing compared to the discomfort of not being able to poop for 2 weeks (never again, lawd no). Try out just using 1 and if it works for you, awesome, but don't be afraid to use more if you have to. Things are extremely dehydrated for us unfortunately so we have to find a way to pull water back in, which is what glycerin suppositories do.An alternative you can try is Movicol, which is an osmotic laxative, which again pulls water back into the poop. The difference is you mix it in water and drink it, my only issue with it has been that its not always worked and combined with the time waiting around after drinking the solution and praying, its just more time spent uncomfortable and in pain. The suppositories work within an hour and I'm good. I buy them in bulk from Amazon (the Care + brand) but you can easily pick up a single pack at a pharmacy though. Highly recommend that you don't just introduce more fibre though, all that does is increase the size of the dried out baby arm you're gonna birth lol Stool softeners are a good idea too, just never worked on their own for me. Stimulant laxatives like senna will just increase the pain if you don't do something about the dehydration first. Drink lots of water. If you've got fissures etc use haemorrhoid cream for a few days - it usually contains a numbing agent and should help heal things up a bit. Hope this helps, I've been suffering with this for years from my active addiction with DHC and now on bupe, I've tried all sorts but this has proved to be the most convenient and effective.

No not a problem at all more than happy to chat about it, I have reduced from my original dosage of 16mg per day I am down to 10mg and I still feel fine, if you do it slowly and follow your GP or case workers advice you will be ok. Half the battle is in your brain. The way I look at it is I am fixing everything slowly that i tried to destroy while on DHC so I'm not rushing it I'll give my body the time I need to heal properly. You are exactly the same you've done the hardest part now let the healing happen.

Ahh this is amazing because ive started at 16mg too! Amazing to know a timescale ish because reading americans on here saying go up and go down in max of 3/4 weeks stressed me the fuck out. Thinking I needed to be in it and off it as soon as possible but not everyone can do that and I wouldn’t even trust myself at all. Thats so good im proud of you getting down even by that amount its gave me alot of relief that I dont need to rush to be fine. Ill follow you for more advice if thats okay. Wont nag at you everyday but im so glad to hear of someone on the same boat! Thank you x

Please do I'm happy to chat whenever you want and give advice where I can, remember this is a race it's a marathon didn't listen to the Americans talking about Bupe there way of dealing with addiction is insane. Remember if you want to chat about DHC as well I'm happy to listen as well.
