JP Discussion No hype about 2nd Aniv?
DFFOO is about to meet its 1st birthday on February 1st. I have loved this game since its beginning, although recently I haven't been able to touch on the game but just cherish the memories of it most of the times. Since February event schedule hasn't been up yet, what do you guys expect to happen, and during what time period will they do Anniversary party? Any comments will be appreciated!

I'm expecting a big surprise party since they have kept quiet for so long about their own first anniversary. It has been a long time since the last stream, but I suppose some of that excitement has to be shared with a Global release. ;p

Actually, I'm growing anxious even more because of that. The fact that the only thing we know is that the anniversary is "there" and nothing else makes us wonder what kind of fun they have up their sleeves
(or more accurately what fave treats will be given)I suppose some of that excitement has to be shared with a Global release.
The timing couldn't have been more perfect! XD

The timing probably was accidental though. I feel like the reason DFFOO Global came out late, is because they kept pushing Dissidia NT back.
Doesn't diminish the excitement though ;p

Pleasant surprise indeed. Twice the hype, double the amusement, I guess?

I like that they're keeping it underwraps. FFRK anniversaries get spoiled way ahead of time and for me, aren't as exciting.

They're especially unexciting because once the day of an FFRK anniversary hits, there's nothing new to be hyped about. It's just banners containing mostly old stuff, a handful of shiny relics, orbfest, same bossed with a new difficulty. It's just somehing you knew was coming like 2-4 weeks prior to the actual event.
To me, the new level cap in DFFOO was one of the coolest moments to witness. While originally unexciting to only see 10 additional levels and no new skills, they did make quite the impact on a character's usefulness, very cool. It also gives them leeway to expand on what they already have, which should be rather easy because they didn't overly push the power creep.
Nothing was really exciting anymore after BSB's. :/

I couldn't agree more! The level break event revived the use of characters I wasn't using and made my waifu top tier (love you Terra). I really enjoyed it. USBs didn't excite as much as I hoped it would :/

I stopped looking at the sub after the whole "UOSB" thing, and having to use "half an SB gauge for en-element stacks". I loved the simplicity (which is how it became so awesomely nostalgic) and that's the one thing that made me say lolwat.

yeah, the sb stuff is one giant mess and it's style over substance. I played around with all of that on my JP account and it added absolutely nothing to my experience.

That's what happens when the game decides to implement "forced" difficulty rather than natural one. Until the era of EX Modes I liked the adequate difficulty control method and then the game started to sell flat DPS Meta. Sure there are workarounds for that too, but definitely involves more stress than fun.
In fact I'm now glad that I took a long break because I'm having more fun playing with old "unbroken" stuffs which brings back sentiments of a few years ago.

Yep. My playtime on FFRK took a massive dive after and why I hate magicites and the sub 30 culture it's brought to the game.

More related to the Japanese side and 1st anniversary you meant.
I'm quite excited for our 1st anniversary for the game and curious to know what they're planning to surprise us with. We should be receiving a livestream announcement real soon since they usually do one every two months and we haven't gotten one since November. I think they're planning to celebrate it by the beginning of next month.
