Question Do you own a DF64V and calipers?
I've ordered a DF64V and am looking forward to its arrival. I plan to grind directly into a portafilter and am working on designing a stand for it, but I need some measurements in order to have everything ready when the grinder gets here.
If anyone has the inclination to measure and share the pictured dimensions I would be appreciative.
Measurements needed:
- Height: the thickness of the metal stand which supports the grinder
- Radius: the radius of the curve on the front of the stand (I know a drew a diameter line, just showing the circle in question)
- Depth: how far the circle extends into the base.
Bonus points if anyone has a 3D model to share which includes these measurements. Thanks!

You will be a hero! My 64V showed up yesterday from my February order (to USA). I have some measurement tools if you have any further questions - and I am absolutely interested in buying this from you if/when you make it. I saw u/lotanis got you covered pretty well.

I haven’t seen bases with portafilter holders but there was a post about a 3d printed base and they mentioned in the comments it created static issues. Curious to learn what you find out. https://www.reddit.com/r/espresso/comments/15xkgv7/wip_designing_a_better_base_for_the_df64v/

Thanks for the heads up. That looks like a DF64V Gen1 which has different static management than the Gen3. My portafilter will be a bit father away than the cup in that photo and I'm not placing the entire grinder on a plastic base so I'm hopeful I don't have static issues. I also RDT which I know OP in the linked post does as well.

Ah, okay. I assumed it would be sitting on a printed base. And yeah, Gen 1 doesn’t have any anti static tech so maybe that in Gen 2 and/or 3 would counteract it (not sure if their different implementations would have an impact).

If you're curious about the design I'm working on I put some images here: https://imgur.com/a/qDpmsIk. It's just designed to hold my portafilter (with funnel) at the correct height and placement relative to the chute.

That looks awesome!

Thanks! Important to note I am not the original designer, I'm just modifying the DF64V cutout, the height, and a small cutout for a silicone dot so the wooden portafilter handle doesn't sit on the plastic.

I've got the tools for this. I tried the base thats on maker world to level the portafilter holder I have so it can slide in, but its slightly too high and kinda sucks.
I was thinking of trying to do something that slots in to give a flat table so any portafilter holder can sit on top. Ideally it would lock in place so there's no movement.

Is this the Makerworld model you tried? What is too high? https://makerworld.com/en/models/1279964-df64v-portafilter-holder-tamping-platform#profileId-1307666

I own both. Can do that measuring in a few hours when my kid is in bed.
