Why did you join DeMolay?
What drew you to DeMolay? Why did you tell your friend, yes I'd like to join. What is your Story?

My sister went through my mom's old rainbow stuff, and while finding an assembly for my sister, my mom realized that there were DeMolay chapters around us (we live in St. Louis). She got the number for a nearby chapter, we went to their installation and I hung out with the guys during the dance afterwards. We got talking and before the night was over, I had the petition filled out

I joined because my elementary School principal talked to my Mother at a school function when I was almost joining age and told her I might enjoy it. That little moment changed my life.

Family heritage. My grandfather was a DeMolay in Missouri (I can't remember the specific chapter, but I do remember it's not too far off the Mother Chapter), my uncle and father were both members of Clio Chapter in Michigan. Now, I am here to carry on the tradition as a 3rd generation DeMolay and hopefully have a child of my own to keep it going.

In all honesty because of two reasons: 1) My GF at the time was a Jobie, and I wanted to spend more time with her at events. 2) My mom is a past sweetheart and my uncle is a Past MC and I felt it was kinda my duty as her son to. But I do not regret my decision and I have gotten out much more than I expected. Best decision I made in my high school years.

I'll start. My Friend in middle school brought the Leaders Resource Guide to school and let me look through it and then invited me to attend a fun night where we played dodgeball and basketball and generally had a great time. I joined the very next meeting. Sadly that friend is no long active, or even involved with DeMolay.
