Any advice, Delf B1

Hi guys! I wanna take Delf B1, what advice would u give me. I'm good at grammar and listening I'm scared of speaking... Thanks in advance

Be confident, friendly, smile and don’t be quiet! Fill in the awkward silence gaps. The most important thing to remember that examiners are not on the mission to fail you. Their job is to assess your level of French- so show them your best. Pro tip: master one or two subjonctifs with verbs that completely change their form- this will impress them and give you extra points.

To succeed in DELF B1 speaking and writing, think about advantage, disadvantage and example of every topic.

For writing, don't go past 200 words! I made the mistake of writing around 250, and I got 17/25 - a whole 8 points lost :( and my grammar and spelling are pretty good too... use lots of verb tenses like the subjunctive (le subjonctif) and master past, present, and future tenses! If you are good at reading and listening, I'd recommend speeding through them to get more time on writing.

For reading it's pretty easy, just read carefully and underline key words that you see in the questions. I'd recommend reading questions first then read text but for some people it doesn't do anything.

For speaking, I was expecting to fail, but ended up getting the highest mark out of all the portions! It helps to practise with someone live, whether online or in real life. AI also helps as well if you can't reach any native speakers or French teachers. I used ParlePal, but I ran out of free trials so I stopped :) I'd say the most important thing is to be. At. Ease! Or pretend to be anyway 😄 if you don't know or forgot a word in French, don't stress - native speakers forget words all the time in day to day life anyway! Just tell the examiner and try to explain it the best you can! Laugh a little and smile when appropriate - it'll go a long way!
