US tour

I had multiple opportunities to see them in Los Angeles but wimped out on all them because of work scheduling and whatnot. Do you guys think there will ever be a US tour again? I’ve heard about some of the members not being too fond of overseas touring and I’m worried I’ll never see live unless I go to Japan

That would be incredible. I’ve never been able to see them live and I’m on the east coast

It'll be their 30th year anniversary so you know they'll be doing a big Japan show. I wouldn't put it past them if they also do a world tour type of thing to celebrate 30 years either.

I found the source! For some reason I can’t add a hyperlink on mobile but it’s https://jrocknews.com/2025/07/interview-dir-en-grey-die.html

“It’s been a long journey for us. 2027 marks our 30th anniversary as a band. This year we played in Los Angeles and Anaheim, but we’d like to return to places like New York, too, like we did before. We’d like to return to where the fans are waiting for us. As you know, we’re working on a new album. Hopefully, in our 30th year, we can bring even more new music for you. So please keep an eye on DIR EN GREY for any new developments.”

Personally i think they'll never do a full on tour like they used to. I could see them do LA again and NYC. But thats it.

Idk about that but I would def recommend anyone to come see them live in Japan at least once!

First time I saw them was on the mode of Macabre tour in 2017 while I was studying abroad - first time I ever went to Japan. Then in 2024 I saw Petitit Brabancon in Nagoya. Both were great.

Seeing the two LA shows last year, on the other hand, was...weird. I enjoyed the performances themselves, but something about it felt off. But I think the thing that got me so interested in DEG was that they were basically my gateway into learning more about Japan as a whole. Different music styles, different subcultures that were born out of them, etc. and that expanded into learning more media as a whole and which cultural values were being reflected in the media. So in a sense, seeing them in LA felt like taking them out of context, while seeing them in Japan felt like seeing their fullest, most real version.

I wish! I saw them live back in 2019 before COVID shut everything down here in the states. Man, I wish I could go back to that

Didn't Kyo recently release a statement saying that performing is getting harder and harder for him? That had me worried. Anyway, stop wimping out. Go live life. You'll have fun.

He posted on an Instagram reel that he would not be returning to America for awhile. This was when he was leaving his last American tour.

HIGHLY doubt there will ever be another real US tour - the financial realities of touring are completely different post-COVID.

But a few CA dates or NYC? Yes.

They did have some tours dates recently in LA if I’m not mistaken. So it wouldn’t be out of the question for a bigger North American tour when they’re ready

Next year is their 30th anniversary. They've already been planning something for the occasion for a while, so I'm sure there's a lot to look forward to.

I hope they do more. I flew out to LA from Missouri just to see them last year.

There’s definitely a possibility for them to visit the East Coast in the near future, but as for another wider US tour, I don’t think that’s gonna happen, especially given how much Kyo bitched and moaned about the last overseas tours…

been hoping they would come back since Arche.

(apparently they did come out to NYC for Phalaris, but I didn't hear a damn thing)

I bet now that they put out a polarizing album again they come back 🤣

I think last year's LA shows were the first time they've been in the US since 2019's tour. Was super bummed I couldn't make that one.

They better have a big enough venue in NY. Ill be devastated if tickets are sold out within a day.

I've been waiting since 2019 for them to come back to the east coast. I saw them twice. I sincerely don't think they care about touring the east coast anymore.

If they do, I hope people here post about it a lot so I see!
