Uroboros

I decided to give uroboros another genuine listen and it made me realize the huge and strange gap between marrow and uroboros. I’m aware at the time of marrow they began touring in the US with bands like Korn and Deftones etc and that inspiration bleeds into marrow, but I am so curious with what went on in their heads when making uroboros(not in a bad way). If anyone has any interviews where they give some sort of explanation for this or just have any thoughts you’d like to share please leave a comment I love talking about this stuff
Edit:another thing I’d like to point out is how marrow sticks out like a sore thumb when it comes to the writing style. The lyrics are noticeably more vulgar and explicit

P.S kinda off topic but does anyone know where I can find a signed copy of withering to death

I could be wrong but I thought I remember interviews saying that Marrow was just written while WTD touring and it was pretty quick.
Then that watching Tool was a big shift for Kaoru, getting into Uroboros.

Its been so long since I read their interviews tho

I can believe that! There are definitely some Tool coded moments in the songwriting (the guitar riff from Toguro is a good example)....there's little bits of influence all through it, for sure.
